Love all your work, this is another great one.
I'm still new to Octane, and I find the DOF effect pretty drastic. Yet here you seem to have the DOF not kicking in until far distance... and the close foreground is still pretty in focus. What camera settings did you use to achieve that effect? From what I've read it seems like the idea is to set auto-focus off, focal distance as high as possible (2000), and f/stop to 22.

Thanks for your kind words! And you're right, the DOF effect in Octane can be pretty drastic. Sometimes this is okay, but I wanted this image as claustrophobic as can be. So I set the f/stop to the max (22) and added the right focus in photoshop. That way it is much more controllable.

I would load this piece back into Photoshop and adjust it using Photshop's Curves function. That would allow you to preserve the colors and contrast while brightening the scene up. Right now, on my monitor at least, it is very much like a muddy version of a Rembrandt painting. Rembrandt was focused on using light to highlight the most dramatic features in a scene, but this piece is woefully short of having highlights at all. At best it has warm spots that only hint at what might be present in the picture. Also, I would touch up the Poser dolls or get rid of them altogether. As they are now, they do not actually fit into the picture all that well. They are mostly notable for their phoniness. Everything else in the scene is almost as realistic as a photograph. You do have the makings of a great picture here, but it needs a little more work to be great.

Thanks for your honest and well written critique. As a newbie in this '3D universe' I have an awful lot to learn. So, your feedback is highly appreciated
