Description Here I collected my favorite toys / games as a kid. We are talking about the time from 1985 to 1995 and I tried to use original photos.

I made the meme myself, you can find the blank version here: fav.me/d3c2ja9

1. Lego
My favorite toy. My parents bought Playmobil and Barbies too, but my passion for the Lego bricks never faded away. My favorite topics were castle, pirates and space. I had some special table to build my big landscapes on and played there on my own for hours. Still the best toy of all time, because you can be so creative and still play real storylines with the cute little figures! The photo shows some of my late Lego (in chaos ).

2. Stuffed animals
I always loved plushies. Dolls were boring, but I liked stuffed animals - especially if they looked like real animals. No strange colors or famous brands please. Except for Littlefoot, the one on the photo... He was one of my favorite plushies, though the character was based on a movie.
Every stuffed animal had a name and with a friend of mine we thought of thrilling adventures. The animals were some sort of intergalactical army, our beds were our spaceships and wer had to fight against an evil overlord. Every stuffed animal had its own role and personality. What a great time, I really miss it sometimes .

3. Small Dinosaurs
Yes, I liked small toy figurines. I never wanted big dinosaurs, I collected those little ones and took them EVERYWHERE. They came with my when we went on holidays and visited the beach, they played along with my Lego characters and I played with them when I took a bath. I still have them, nobody was allowed to throw/give them away. The photo shows some different dinos though. The ones from the 80s looked more realistic.

4. Old clothes
When my friends came around we often dressed up and did some roleplaying (in a childish sense of course). My mother collected old clothes and rags she didn't want anymore and so I had a big chest full of wonderful costumes to play with.

5. Sand
I had a sandbox and this was my favorite place to be in the summer. Most of the time I built sand castles for my dinosaurs.
No, the photo doesn't show the sandbox... Unfortunately I have no photo of it . But that's Holland where we "stole" my sand, because it was so muach better than the usual sandbox sand.

6. Selfmade / drawn things
I often played with cut outs, for example I created clothes for paper dolls (though I hated real dolls). Or I made little paper computers for our spaceships . The photo shows one of them. Sometimes I painted landscapes on big pieces of papers and played on them with my toy dinosaurs. So I guess I was a creative kid... and very cheap to handle for my parents .

7. Garden
Whenever the weather allowed it I played in our garden. Okay, the garden is no toy... but I played with everything I could find there . Later I had a tree house (without a tree... but beside that it was really cool). Our garden is very big and my Grandma has all kinds of plants there. So one of my favorite games was to collect good smelling things and to pretend to "cook" meals or tea with them.

8. Boardgames
My mother used to play many boardgames with me, and that's why I still enjoy playing them today. The photo shows some of the games I still have today. Our collection never stopped growing .

9. My little Pony
At least some girly stuff. I can't tell what I liked about them. I never was a big horse fan and usually I didn't like pink things. But I loved my ponys .

10. Hula Hoop
I never was really into sports, but I enjoyed Hula Hoop.

In case you wonder if I had no electronical toys: I didn't like them. And I didn't play any videogames. My father bought his first computer in the year 1994, and I got my own computer years later. My parents didn't want to buy a console and I never asked for it anyway. If you don't know it you don't miss it . So my passion for videogames and electronic gagdets started very late as a teenager.
