Hot d@mn, I don't know how long it's been since I last visited my DA account. I've been very busy with work and I lost my drawing mood for almost a year, and that hindered me from finishing my little works in progress. That's why I'm glad that I finally got to finish this piece. *sigh*So this is the finished piece, my first multi-colored ballpoint pen portrait of my favorite rocker of all time, Kurt Donald Cobain. This is also in commemoration of his 21st death anniversary last April 5.
Materials Used:
- Canson Sketchpad (9x12 inches)
- Multi-colored Ballpoint Pens
- pencil and eraser for the initial sketch

damn, that background is AMAZING, no matter that it's not as even as you might have wanted. To just achieve what you did is amazing. I always check the background of your drawings because it's so hard to do blurred/shaded backgrounds with ballpoint pen and you do them beautifully. I'm sure it is incredibly time consuming though, and frustrating. The only time I did a big gradient shading, I never really finished it

Yes, it is time consuming indeed. But I guess total patience and the lightness of hand is really the key when it comes to ballpoint drawings.
