She's been infected by a space parasite. It's in its final form.

The parasites are usually transmitted by contact with things in space that have been touched by an adult version of the parasite. These parasites usually begin in a sort of "egg" state. They grow by feeding off of the host's body. When they are adults, they leave the body as they no longer need nutrients for the rest of their lives. In this unlucky kira's case, she received the parasite from her friends who come from a small asteroid. The friends are kira too, but they have mutations that have allowed them to live in space and that give them a tolerance to the parasite.

This kira's name is Milkyway (which was suggested by EeveelynKiriuyy ). She hasn't always looked like this. She used to be full of color; however, the parasite has taken its toll on her.

Upon inhabiting it, the parasites begin to use the host body as a sort of "hive". They can travel throughout the blood stream which causes the blood to become black. They usually swarm around the ears and tail of the creature that they have infected, but they cannot be seen outside of the body in any other place (for the most part). Once they are in a body, they will not spread to other bodies. These creatures are not tangible. They're kind of like little ghosts. The parasites suck all of the color out of the body causing any fur to become white. The eyes also turn black. At this point, the pain is minimal. It gradually worsens until, suddenly, all at once, it becomes nearly unbearable.

This turning point is when the creature begins to feel that death is inevitable. The parasites consume the entire body in a sort of gray fire. It does not feel like fire to anyone else who touches it, but to the host, it feels like being burnt alive. The eyes turn white due to the increased activity of the parasites (they are preparing to leave the host body) and sort of glow. The eyes also begin to cry the black blood inside of the host. Yeah, those aren't patterns or tears. Those are made of blood. The host usually clenches their teeth because of the amount of pressure being put on them.

There isn't much time left to live at this point.
