Years ago, I wanted to make these my first official original species. I got pretty far into it before I lost interest in the project. I'm glad I did, because they really hadn't had enough time to be conceptualized properly. Now that they're more complete, I think it's time to introduce them in an official way! So here's part one of who knows how many parts, eventually.

Are they dragons? Kind of, but not really. They share an ancestor with other dragons of Thaevern (like Volten and Zyraxus), but their evolutionary path went in a weird direction. They mostly live in trees.

They are a genderless species - they do not use pronouns, instead, they refer to each other by name or shortened versions of the name.

They are biologically immortal, which means they do not age*. They can die from injury, starvation, the elements, predation, etc, and very rarely from sickness/disease**. Once they are born they age normally (albeit slowly by human standards) until they are fully mature, but at that point aging stops.

*HOWEVER, they will begin to age IF they chose to reproduce. Once eggs are lain, hormones trigger the aging process (again, slowly by human standards) to resume. A sexually active Oshrathari has the option to ingest a specific insect that keeps them infertile for as long as wish to remain ageless and free of babies.

**They aren't any more immune to these problems than other species, but they have a very extensive knowledge of herbology that tends to cover most known illnesses.

This is a closed species, you may not make one without permission. However, they will soon be available through sales and events! Stay tuned if that's a thing you're interested in.

I'm still feeling out how to organize this information and some specific details, so things may change or get rearranged. If you can think of any questions about these things, I'd love to try and answer them!
