sorry for the late response!! Hm, I always wondered. Seems like either Erik had an ally or he wasn't the only odd person living in the cellars. Many people say that Erik IS the ratcatcher. He knows how to produce illusions, so he somehow made himself have a head of flames, and threw his voice etc.
Yes! Go watch it! i saw it and I sobbed all the way through... and although Russell doesn't sing the best (he's like Gerard Butler in Phantom) I still liked his rendition.

TnT DarthxErik, LadyCavalier needs some comfort!
A friend of mine who's just 12 and was all sweet has suddenly taken a drastic turn. At first it was just she liked a hard rockish band who sorta emulated kiss, but not all screamy-like, and the guys were actually really funny young men, like Big Time Rush funny. Anyway, then she started dressing all dark and cursing (though never around me, but she did on the internet and I learned around our other friend) etc, and I just read a journal entry of hers, and although I understand that at that age you go through rebellion and her family is probably questioning her new taste and so she's getting really devil-may-care zealously defiant, and it's (hopefully) just a dramatic find-myself phase...but still I was pretty...shocked, concerned, and just bummed about that entry.
Not only that, but I'm worried now about my super best friend who's best friends with her. She's grown wiser, but is still rather impressionable, and the way she keeps the peace is by just keeping people out sometimes, and I really think she'll feel I'm being negative about our other friend if I try to talk about it to her, and she'll clam up to me while telling her everything else. It's happened like that before.
But there's serious friction between her (my super BFF) and her controlling mom, and from what her responses to her mom have been lately, I'm worried our friend's rather aggressive approach to conflict is rubbing off on her, but I absolutely know for certain that if I ever expressed a concern like that to my BFF, she would DEFINITELY take offense because she'd feel not only was I criticizing her but our other friend too, and her response to criticism: avoid subject and/or person at all costs, via the silence-and-glare treatment.
.....Anyway, I was really sad and distressed about this all, and it's the weekend so I won't have any of my teachers at school to talk about it to (they're all Christians) and they wouldn't have the time anyway we're all so busy, and I knew YOU'RE a Christian, so... Yeah. Sorry I gave you so much to read on a Friday night.
Oh, and since I am totally incompetent and inconsistent with internet, can I like send you $12 via the good old fashioned pony express? Stamps, letters, etc?

Hi there! No need to worry. I'm sorry about the late response... basically with school I hardly check back on here because I'd have so much to catch up on! But good thing this comment was recent and not buried.
So sorry to hear that... actually I've had my fair share of friendships gone awry or weird like that (with the 12-year-old girl you know)... gee that's a young age to get rebellious and what-not, but then again I was 12-13 when I got into my star wars obsession and my parents were a bit worried that I was in love with Anakin/Darth Vader... XD In some cases it can be a phase but it could also, like you say, let someone go down a bad path. I think that if this girl sees the "good" in whatever she's into and feels misunderstood, then hopefully it'll be a phase that will eventually allow her to grow more "normal" interests... but the only way that happened for me is by still maintaining a strong relationship with God. If she doesn't have good roots, then the best you can do is pray for her and always be a good friend to her. That doesn't mean having to talk about Jesus whenever you're with her... believe me and you already know this I bet... this'll turn anyone off. But what it means is saying things like "I can pray for you right now!" if it's like that person is on the verge of tears and you've already talked the best you can and you don't know what to do next. Or if they're asking for your advice, tell them how God can help them too. A simple sentence or two, and if the conversation gets sparked, then go for it. But God works slowly and he wants a relationship, not a "convert." So if she doesn't have that, just win her over with love. God takes care of the rest.
As for your BFF, it seems like you know that it would be a healthy thing to discuss your other friends' situation and that your friend is closed off. You can't force her, and if you think that otherwise the friendship is a good one to keep, then you can't share everything on your heart (even though you want to.) You're in a really tough spot. But my mom always reminds me this: Everyone will let you down in life. Everyone. Friends, acquaintances... even family. But God is our best friend. He never lets us down. Sounds easy, but in the moment if we can remind ourselves of this, without taking on a cynical look at life, just realize you can't always be 100% FREE around someone and transparent. Some people you have to learn the "rules" of the relationship, and sadly stick to them. With your BFF, keeping the peace will, unfortunately, be your job too. Until she seems open to talk about this situation, it's best to be there for her too.
Anyway, that's my best advice for this. Please PM anytime you just want to talk too. (even though i'm terribly late at checking messages!)

Sorry I was so late responding. I read but i guess i forgot to reply back. Thanks so much dude, and you're completely right in everything, and everything was SO helpful. Turns out, there WAS a whole lotta drama going in my other friend's life (my BFF *sigh* forgot to mention -_-) that would really account for her behavior of late. I haven't been able to see her in a while so I just have my friend pass on that I miss her and stuff and hope she's doing ok. But yeah, you're totally right about the whole issue of what I should say, and I'm going to keep it well in mind the next time I see her. If it comes up. Or if I can sorta casually bring it up. Like you said.
*happy sigh* But, thus far, God's been good. I know He'll never fail me, even if all seems bleak. It's so weird, our vice principle literally JUST said that about how friends WILL let you down but Jesus NEVER will in the very last assembly! Cool! ^u^ Affirmation!

awr, well gosh! I've been a Christian nearly all my life, I just love God. Sometimes he just helps me express that. No too bad I don't live near Alabama! lol!
Ohhh that's good that you got to catch that and be compassionate/helpful to her! Everything in love. I know so many Christians who think that just because they THINK they should bring up something nasty that they should! Sometimes we hear God's voice, sometimes our own, and sometimes the enemy. If you say something to simply prove a point, it might not be God! So the Holy Spirit is your guide. Ask him to give you the right words. He will definitely use you, and the rest is in his hands!
