Hello
I spoke to Leon on the phone tonight and he mentioned that he'd written to the director of the Alzheimer's Society in France on your behalf, but he couldn't remember if he'd told you! So I'm telling you.
Hope you're well, I know you're busy right now, so I'll talk to you sometime soon-ish!
Natty x

Ha ha! I've just realised the irony of that first paragraph!

you're so funny... yeah, he told me. I'm attempting to bend my subject matter to it at the moment, which means I'll be working strictly from memory, without the guidance of photographs, which means I am kinda scared what might come out, but we'll see. Consiquently, I'll noy be posting progressions, which means nothing new to be posted for a couple months and then I'll post the entire series (of hopefuly 14 compositions). I'll probably just post 'em one day at a time so that people will be more interested in taking a second to look over each one. And there are other reasons why I don't want to post 'em all at once, but that's a secret for the moment. Anyway I have my fingers crossed that all will turn out well.
I'm hoping to do about 38 compositions this year.

Hello! Yes, I'm here.
Nice to be near friends.
I'll try and get some news now from the woman I spoke to you about concerning your project.
Best to you,
Leon.

It's good to have you here!
It's gonna be a little while before I get a chance to submit more work (here), but the next series should be "interesting"... I'll be experimenting, as usual. I'll try to come up with something unexpected.
Thanx again for looking into that other matter for me. I look forward anything you can find out. In the interim, I'll be keeping myself busy as always.
I hope all is well with you.

sure np. It's really good stuff. You should publish it. Put together a nice small little paperback about 100 pages with a good title and some cover art. All you gotta do is go to the bookstore and looks at the poetry books that you like and see which publishers name is most common... then contact that publisher and ask 'em what's the next step.
... and such.

poisonedwaters In reply to Vasqi [2007-09-24 19:25:15 +0000 UTC]
Well I never really thought about that, and there is a place I can go that I saw alot of my fellow writers go to publish books, and it was something like lulu.com or something
and the problem with uh the cover art is I really don't know anyone who could draw anything for me that would fit, and be ok with it being on a cover of a book, and also with proper credits too
too much thinking for me, at this stage, lmao
altough maybe in the future... and I also don't have 100 poems to include in the book so I suppose I should find my muse and start writing again
its better to have an even time line of poems, instead of a clump from one year

you can use that portrait I painted of you, if the cover is white... or something.
Anyhow, publishers help writers developer their work. All you gotta do is take 'em what you got so far and tell 'em you wanna put together a book of poems for people who are recovering from a bad relationship (basically, anyone can relate to that... the theme is extremely marketable). Show 'em what you got and they'll tell you what they need you to add or take out etc... besides, you don't need 100 poems, you can add some illustration to fatten it up. Contact a publisher and talk to them... see what they have to say.
The best thing you got going is that it's your true emotions about a real experience. The subject matter is marketable, but not just any poet can write about that kind of thing without living it or it will feel contrived... but your stuff reads as real and that's what makes it good.
