A) I'm glad! Hopefully I'll have both my computer and tablet back soon. I definitely miss digital art!

B) Yeah, wth was that? I hate seeing stuff like that. Honestly I don't even mind traced bases--because it's helped at least one person learn better anatomy, and that's all art really is, y'know? Learning. -shrug- The day you stop improving your art is the day you should stop. Even if you improvements are so tiny only you notice them, you should always be improving, and I know bases help a lot of people. There's some artists, in fact, who are AMAZING dollers, but when they try and do something without a base, it looks...disappointing? but it's a thousand times better than before they started using bases and learning how things were supposed to look. Or, in some cases, how things aren't supposed to look.

Plus, I just hate trolls and flamers in general. I mean, as long as it's not hurting anyone, I don't give a crap what you do.

Exactlyyyy, I mean people still consider photomanips art even though the stock is often not theirs, why can't the same thought apply to bases? Plus it's so fun finding a base that fits your story, y'know?

Precisely. I mean people do collabs, right? And those are usually just freaking FAB. And sometimes you just see a base and you go "holyshiz! It's that person! Asgjfdnot!" and you just GOTTA use it, even if it means turning the poor thing inside out, upside down and round-and-round. I have mutilated many a base in the name of "fffmustmakecharacterperfect!" Of course then by the time I've finished editing the base I'm far too lazy to put clothes and such on it...I have a huge folder of naked people just waiting to be clothed. I try not to let people go through my pics cause that's awkward...

Tee hee. I LOVE doing that. My friend has this snobby little sister who's like "I can speak CHINESE!!!1" and I'm like good for you, and she'll just start speaking Chinese at random moments and laugh when I can't understand her, so one day I was just like "Cong hong rong I song tong I A nong!" (part of a Christan camp song - the song goes C-H-R-I-S-T-I-A-N and there are variations of it like that) and she thought I was actually speaking Chinese and she's like "Oh, uh, I don't think I know that one..." XDDD

lol I'm fluent in gibberish. I can speak it with a variety of accents and generally mumble it to myself. It's one of my few skills and one I generally keep to myself, but every now and then I'll just burst out with some "Japanese" since I technically took a Japanese language course, and people are always like "woah cool." Screwing with people is one of the greatest pleasures to be had.

The amazing thing about knowing gibberish is that if you're trying to impress someone with a language you know, if you forget some words you can just make stuff up. Like, if I'm speaking French to anyone who isn't my French teacher, I can just fill the unknown parts in with words that sorta-kinda sound like the English equivalent, no one notices.

Or making up V-words for a V-speech. 8D
