This DeviantArt portfolio is meant to share the sketches and ideas I have made for a future game concept I call Laoyuanwen. It takes place in an alternate history where China is the main colonial power and has been before Europe. Alongside the politics and endeavors of the Ming Empire (which did not fall like in our timeline) there is the reality of gods, demons, and magic. The main setting for much of Laoyuanwen would be after the turn of the 19th century, between our 1804 and 1832, though later dates can appear.

Location Names in Comparison to Our World:

Ming - our China, commonly used for the core of the Ming Empire
Annan - our Vietnam
Choso/Koryo - our Korea
Nippon - our Japan
Fusang - our South American continent (named for Ming colony)
Laoyuanwen - our North American continent (named for Ming colony)
Feizhou - our African continent
Aozhou - our Australia
Nandaoyu - our New Zealand
