I don't know much about paying animators.
I've got a couple hundred in the bank and a few thousand before my credit cards max out.
In the post I said I would pay $1024 to $2048 for a 2 minute animation.
Do you think anyone will want to do it for that money?

Hi there! You don't have to reply to this if you don't want to or don't feel like it (or even read it) but I really love your art. Everything about it. The way it express' things and how much of an impact it has and how you cant stop looking at it....or maybe that's just me xD I saw your little film its ok to give up sometimes and I...it was really really good I honestly can't get over it, as silly as this letter or message sounds or how cliche it sounds or how badly written it is, I'd like to end it by saying i love your art...alot and I wish I was as good as you.

Well. I'm currently working on a music video which should be done in august
Oh and the inspiration/message behind all this... it's quite simple... in my head anyways... it's sort of forever evolving story. it's like, you love someone really really much and you get nothing in return but you love them so much you don't care. Then you give up and carry on but clearly you are unhappy, you live a half life. Loneliness and emptiness. But you still have hope for something, you're not really sure what, so you don't give up (though eventually you really want to). Then you find people who felt the same way and create something you can so strongly relate to (in my case the music). So you feel slightly less alone. Yet, it's not brilliant. I think it's because you don't know what you have until you lose it forever. I don't know, there's a lot of fazes of that and I'm writing down mine through animations and illustrations. Not all of them are personal though. So yeah, that's in short about my art hahah XD

That's really amazing. Maybe I sound silly to you but this really touched me..maybe it's from being in a similar situation or just the idea of carrying on so strongly even though you feel so empty. Also the act of loving someone so much that when you move on even though they didn't love you back you still feel incomplete and sad. I consider that to be a true example of love and dare I say even a pinch of hatred, which are two things that are so overused in the wrong context today however, your animation painted that idea so beautifully. Anyway before I start babbling like a fool I just really admire your work and ideas and so forth

Yeah, there's a lot to it I guess. Funny because every animation shows a different stage. And the video I'm doing, even though it's for someone else, there's some things in it that are just the continuation. I'm glad you like it

I mainly use Adobe After Effects cs5.5 and Photoshop cs4 (will switch to cs6 soon hopefully). If you want to upload to DA you have to ask for permission (go to FAQs it's all there) and then you should have another "category" in your uploads. After that it's just the case of format of the film (I export as .mov with h.264 codec). Hope that's helpful!
