Hey Val, joined your E3DA club a couple of weeks ago. Maybe you should consider setting up your own site for all the E3DA art and stuff. I mean images and member content........I had to setup my own site for all of my XXX erotic work with Wordpress. Not many sites allow extreme erotic art any more. Other than Renderotica of course. Have you thought about setting a dedicated page there?
Anyway, just my six cents worth. Was five cents but, you know, inflation.....

You may have joined DA at the worst possible time: they got bought by a religious corporation that's trying to "clean" the place up by driving all the erotic content they don't find acceptable away, but hey, welcome to the show anyways.

If only it was the Mormons. Except I think they are one of the religions that hates tech so they wouldn't build a tech-based mega-corporation that buys up things like alternative art sites like DA. Well they own Bonneville Communications. Which is a huge radio business. Also they own Black and Decker, JetBLue and Skywest Airlines.
Looks like DA, is owned by Wix, which is a Isralie company.

Then perhaps the Mormon's aren't whom I was thinking of, in any case: Not only is Wix an Israeli company, they are supposedly a religious fundamentalist company so they are using their religion as a context and excuse for their TOS decisions. Which IMHO suggests they are using their religion as an excuse to persecute artists that don't even follow their religion let alone their stringent definition of it.

Well it seems to be kind of going around: other popular art sites are being forced to "clean up their act" and be more PC/PG - because you know the only kind of art we should be able to look at on the internet is Disney and My Little Pony style art, right? DA has always had and enforced an "age appropriate" rating system to protect the kiddies from seeing stuff they aren't ready for: but that doesn't matter anymore according to WIX: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wix.com

Yeah it's very unfortunate. The place has never really been open to truly erotic content but the new owners are especially rigid. I had four pieces deleted from my gallery including my most favorited render - without any real explanation for why. I even asked what I could change so I could put it back up and got no response.

It was kind of a mixed bag for me, I'm not really here to become popular: I just want a venue where I can share my artistic expression and that the place is becoming so anal about labeling everything they don't like as "porn" means that I and many other artists don't have the freedom of expression we desire here. I was glad that I'd produced a piece lots of people liked: but I wasn't looking forward to sending out hundreds of "thank you's" - so having the piece deleted saved me from that even if I really would like to get it back up because I was proud of it for it's own sake.

I admit I am a little frustrated about it, but the main thing is letting you know that you'll want to be careful what you post so you won't have the same thing happen. I've watched around a dozen artists leave DA since the new company took over because of the new company's anal and incoherent application of their "porn" definition in the new TOS - even considered it myself - but I'm willful enough and I've invested over 12 years into this place so I don't want to just abandon all of that. I've also noticed dozens more artists that are just GONE without explanation and I wonder how many of them also packed up and left because of the inconsistent application of the TOS.
