Ah thank you. I'm very pleased you like them. I need to do some more, not because I have loads of things I want to draw, more that I need to draw something for the sake of my own sanity.

I have been fine, but I couldn't get to sleep until five this morning... for some unknown stupid reason, so I'm today operating off of two and a half hours sleep. I've just finished a lecture on early Russian documentary filmmaking - which is interesting from a historical perspective but not at nine in the morning. And I have to wait around until two for a meeting with the third years for this film of theirs I'm supposed to be directing. Hmm. Sorry. This is a bit of a rant. I have a storyboard of a hundred and thirty shots to draw out... which is killing me... and may therefore lead to other deaths...

But I have got a rather nice script going which I'm really quite excited about, I just can't start working on it properly until I've got this sodding storyboard out the way.

How are you? :-D

English-Gentleman In reply to The-13th-Doctor [2010-02-03 19:13:40 +0000 UTC]

Crikey sounds like you are chock-a-block with work my friend.

Whereas I happen to be very well thank you and free of such difficulties, however I do start my job back at waitrose tomorrow which I am looking forward too. Money is always nice to have around.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

The-13th-Doctor In reply to English-Gentleman [2010-02-03 19:23:00 +0000 UTC]

I'm sure it is... Ah money... I remember that. I'm hoping to do the slacking alternative to a job and doing portraits for money. Ha ha. If I can get enough interest I could potentially earn a fair bit. It's just getting the interest.

Hope Waitrose goes well for you. I bet it's better than Tesco's. I didn't enjoy my time in Tesco's very much. But I'm sure Waitrose is better. It's higher class so of course it must be superior. ...Ha ha ha!

And yes I am chock-a-block... but the meeting went rather well in the end and everything's moving nicely, just have to get location permissions and actors confirmed by the end of this week and I'll be happy. Which is just as well since we're filming on the 15th to the 17th. Ha ha.

Well I hope you drum up enough interest in your paintings to do so dear fellow.

Well three days in and it certainly still is enjoyable, and I seem to be getting on well, at least thats what my colleagues would have me believe. Just waiting for the inevitable monotony to set in he he.

Im glad the meeting went well. So what is this filming project about? Whats the story?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

The-13th-Doctor In reply to English-Gentleman [2010-02-08 00:30:29 +0000 UTC]

Eurgh. Well, it's a bit like Phone Booth - or at least it was when it first appeared on my virtual desk, and had no discernible genre, style or tone.
Essentially it follows this guy, Jack, who is in his mid to late twenties. He's engaged and he's sleeping with other women as his wedding day descends upon him. We have this very loony woman who knows all about this affair business and is threatening him and for some reason is setting him challenges serving only to embarrass him. In the end it's at the church and the crazy woman turns out to be his fiance. ...This was the story for a long long time. I didn't really know what to do about it. I'm the director, but I'm the year below the rest of the crew, and I'm therefore not being graded on this film... I thought maybe I should leave it and work with what I've got, and the rest of the group seemed to think it was a great script which astounded me, so in the end it got too awful to work with and I nealy killed many many people over it. So I had to say 'look, we have to change this script, it has no idea what it is, it has pointless and confusing scenes, it's written like a thriller without any semblance of a thriller element and it's got comedic lines where it's not funny enough to be a comedy'. So the script was changed numerous times and finally we got a decent, simplified, much better structured story, where Jack wakes up in some girls bedroom, on his way out gets a call from this Luna who seems to know about his affair has left him with a bomb in his car and he has to run across the city with this bomb before it explodes in the middle of this public place. Then his fiance is revealed to be working with Luna and it all culminates in a showdown in this industrial wateland-type area where the bomb turns out to be a fake, his fiance leaves him and then he gets shot by Luna. The end. It's still a bit rubbish but then it's not really my film so I should just shut up and get on with it.

Hmm. Apologies, that was quite rambling but I hope you understand what I was trying to say.

It's getting closer and closer to filming. Actors are confirmed and I'm meeting one of them tomorrow and another on tuesday, and I have horrible horrible storyboarding still to finish because I find it very difficult to just concentrate on something so visually and mentally demanding for too long at one time. But I'll be so happy when next week is over.

Monotony - yeah... I had that... What is it exactly that you do in Waitrose? I was on the deli counter in Tesco's. Which I hated. Mostly because of the customers. I just, hate, the general public. Actually, I find it really funny when people say how they'd rather be doing something that keeps them busy in their job because it makes the time go quicker. In my experience the supermarket time zone exists seperately from our own world, and I would rather just sit and be bored that have to do much. I want to work at the ticket office in the Chichester Festival Theatre (which I will eventually get off my arse and attempt) because apparently you have barely anything to do. Ha ha.

This is a very long message...

English-Gentleman In reply to The-13th-Doctor [2010-03-09 10:49:16 +0000 UTC]

Sorry its taken me so long to reply matey. Been rather busy. now when you say many people you mean the regular amount you kill right? well it certainly sounded like a great idea but what a confusing ordeal.

So have you managed to film anything yet?

Basically what I do is I go round with a whopping great trolley and pick other peoples shopping which I then pack and sort and it gets sent to them, rather relaxing job really and I am still enjoying myself.

long messages mean more to read and reading is fun .............

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

The-13th-Doctor In reply to English-Gentleman [2010-03-09 11:06:24 +0000 UTC]

Ah! No worries I've been pretty busy myself. Yes I did mean my regular killing amount. It's amazing how well you know me. :-D
Yep, confusing ordeal is exactly how it should be described, but we filmed it in 3 days last week. And it's all done - well almost, we have to go back and just shoot a few establishing shots and that's pretty much it... so my main job is over. I just have to oversee the editing to make sure it's still on track, but I don't have much to do now. Yay! I can get on with my own work.

Ah the shopping online job. That's cool, that's probably a really nice side of working at a supermarket. Hm. I approve. Ha ha.

Hmm. What you say of long messages is true... Ha ha.

I want to be back in Brighton again now. I've had enough once more. I miss my Brighton life.
