^ Technically speaking Matt Smith is the 11th, which makes your username fit even more. (Gallifrey's last hope, The 11th was the one who went back and saved Gallifrey in the Day of the Doctor.)

Hey! I love it. I've been so so absent from DeviantArt. Well not absent, I check in fairly often but I've not submitted anything for so long. It's been a busy time lately - most of it in a good way. But yeah, very little time for art sadly.
Hope you're well, and hope you have a merry Christmas - I have my fingers crossed that this year's Doctor Who will be better than the last one... Haha, but I know Moffat's written it so I'm concerned.

I'd be honoured to, but I don't do any Doctor Who fan art any more so I wouldn't have much to contribute I'm afraid.

I have a couple of John Simm Master sketches from the End of Time, but I've never worked out how to use them.
Thanks for the watch by the way.

Thank you for the favorite, I too am a Ren and Stimpy fan! If you want WWII inspiration, you have to become immersed in "The Battle of Stalingrad."

Something I will do, thank you. At the moment I've lost all my creative drive to do much but when I can get it back I'll go into research again.
And no problem for the fave, you have a wonderful gallery.
I am actually supposed to be writing an H.P Lovecraft play roundabout now, but again, a lot of research is required for that, I don't know enough about him or his stories yet. From the looks of it you know your Lovecraft.
And Ren and Stimpy is awesome. Not enough people have witnessed its glory.

I understand all too well about losing the creative drive, that's why I posted sketches from 25 years ago as I haven't done anything lately. The creative urge is always there but life gets in the way, it's always something, but I'll be back in the saddle soon. Lovecraft was an antiquarian, an understanding of ancient New England is important to interpret his work, many of the houses and locals he mentions exist today in Providence, RI, his home. Also, the village that he created, Arkham, is based on Salem, Mass. Some of my cartoon work has the Ren and Stimpy feel, especially the huge bloodshot eyes and rotten teeth that Kricfalusi doted on.

Hm, yeah I've got too much to worry about that I can't focus on anything creative. Which in turn gets me more down because I don't have the outlet - it's a vicious circle.
Ah right, thank you for that, my two biggest problems with trying to write the play are 1) the vast and daunting amount of reading I need to do, and 2) the focus of the story - I don't actually know what it is yet.
But you've given me a way in by suggesting the location. That helps massively. Not that I've been to these places but it will help hugely in understanding his mind.

Well I don't feel so bad knowing that stress and worry drains others creative minds just as it does to myself, it seems as if there's always something going on. One movie based on the epic battle of Stalingrad was "The Enemy at the Gates" starring Jude Law and Ed Harris. It was a story about a Soviet sniper vs a German sniper. Stalingrad ended Hitlers invasion of Russia and swallowed up the entire German Sixth Army. Out of 300,000 Germans and allies, 90,000 were taken prisoner, only 5,000 survived the Soviet prison camps. The Russians lost millions.

The Battle of Stalingrad is a very rich aspect of WWII. I'll investigate further, thank you.
I don't know if I can stand Jude Law for a whole film though.

Although I'm well read on WWII I'm more of a student of the Civil War myself as I have so many Confederate ancestors that took part (and some yankees too). Forget Jude Law, the movie is amazing (Hell Boy's Ron Perlman is also in the movie), and I feel that it's very accurate of the horrors at Stalingrad.

Ah, I'm not hugely knowledgable about your Civil War, it's not an area I have any connection with and didn't learn about it in school. WW1 and WW2 were more culturally impacting on my country and although I'm not as well read as I'd like to be, those periods fascinate me.
And I like Ron Perlman so I may well check out the film.
