thank you for watching me and excuse my shitty starter
Konstantin was never one to believe in mermaids, not even in fairy tales that spoke about them and even ignored the sailors that spoke about having spotted one during their youth just because of that. Yet the least he expected was to ever see one so, during his trip to Denmark for international relations (if having to listen to his American enemy saying stupid things before trying to speak to the Dane could be counted as that), he simply facepalmed at the sight of the statue made in honour of Hans Christian Andersen: Denmark seemed so eager to talk about it and how the fairy tale impressed everyone but, at the end of his babbling, the Dane muttered to him something about them being real. As expected, Konstantin simply stared at the other and shook his head.
Hours later, Konstantin just stood by the sea shore, his boots were left behind so he could just let his feet to get wet "...mermaids being real?" the soviet frowned slightly, then shook his head "sure, and then pigs fly" perhaps the blonde had drank too much beer or maybe the soviet was wrong, who knows.

So sorry about the lateness
Ariel thought the beach was clear of humans-- she wasn't scared of them, or thought that they were bad like her father had stated. She wanted to search the shores for anything unique and human-made. They made such awesome objects, but not as awesome as she thought they were. The mermaid has gotten more daring and yes, she's been spotted a few times but nothing happened? Nothing bad happened! She was fine. He wasn't the only man on the beach though, and Ariel swam too close to shore this time. Two fisher-men, waist deep in water nearby tossed a fishing net right on top of her. Only as soon as they did she noticed that they were in the water and she was suddenly being hauled right out of the blue liquid.Β
"HOLY SHIT!!!" One of the fisher-men yelled as they dragged the mermaid onto the shore. The only was too shocked to really say anything. Ariel, confused and all tangled up just struggled in the netting. The woman looked up at them, and they looked at her. She didn't know what they were going to do next, that was for sure.Β

[[/ The trip back to the colonies was something John had been eagerly awaiting. He hated to admit it, but he was looking forward to seeing the familiar sight of South Carolina. After two years in London, he was excited to get back to America, back to his family.
[[/ His excitement had been snuffed out however. Rain poured down upon them, waves crashing violently into the side of their ship. His clothing was soaked through, and the biggest obstacle John was facing was trying to stand up right. The cold seeped into his bones and he was sure that if the ocean didnt kill him, hypothermia would. He stumbled forward, almost being thrown off the edge of the boat. His fingers dug into the wood, his heart pounding loudly in his chest. Water clogged his vision as he hugged the side of the ship pathetically, praying that they might make home. His prayers were ignored, it seemed when another harsh wave hit the ship, the force of the blow launching John over the side. His heart dropped as he plummeted towards the water, his panicked shout completely unheard over the sound of the raging storm.

> Ariel saw the ongoing chaos from below, the large ship and the winds violently fighting against the wooden structure with the water. It was a force of nature that couldn't be beaten. The mermaid watched from the water, shocked and surprised and that was when she saw the figure get tossed overboard and into the water.Β
> without thinking about her father's words, and how he said humans were evil barbarians, Ariel dived back into the water and swam quickly in his direction. She quickly wrapped her arms around him and pulled him up to the surface, but by then-- the boat was to far for her to catch up with. She could see the boat...until it was completely turned over by a large wave of water.Β
> with those kind of waves, it was going to be hard trying to save his life without constantly getting tossed underwater, but she had to try...Β
> the mermaid kept a tight grip on him and began swimming against the sea, heading in the direction of the only land she knew of in a desperate attempt to save this human's life.Β

Arthur had always found the ocean a calming place, he sighed as he leaned against the Mystery Van while gazing down the beach. Vivi and Mystery were back home, Vivi apparently not to keen to head out to the beach when there was a warning of rain. The young mechanic didn't care, it was hot and he'd go anyway. Moving from his spot, he headed down to the beach.
He stood at the edge of the water, letting the waves lap at his toes, his normal converse switched out for flip-flops and his pants rolled up to his knees. He waded into the water, smiling as he gazed out at the vast blue mass. He jumped, however, when he heard loud splashing.
"W-who's there?!", Arthur called, his voice loud but soft, timid at the same time. He was known for his cowardice but he tried to put the effort forward to make himself seem braver.

under the sea . ;0 Thanks!
There wasn't anyone there but him, and the redhead didn't even know he was there. When he called out she was in the water again and the voice was only muffled and unheard, she would easily dismiss it as nothing. Ariel swam along the shore, a bit away from him before swimming out of the water and laying out on the sand--she didn't see him, and he wasn't far at all. The mermaid saw something shiny- so she came up onto the shore to get it and once she pulled it out of the reeds and sand and revealed what it was, her face lit up with curiousity. It was a locket necklace she she managed to open it up while laying out on the sand, green tail rising and falling. The pictures inside were too faded to make out.
Closing the locker and examining it further, she still didn't notice his movement in the corner of her eye because of the assumption she made that no one would be at this beach today.

Arthur waited and sighed, relaxing, as he didn't get any response. Must've been just a fish or something. He was so jumpy nowadays, he hated himself for it but it wasn't exactly his fault. The young male stood there for awhile longer, bending to brush his flesh hand against the surface of the salty water, smiling. He started walking however, walking in the water at the edge, head down with his hands in his pockets.
Figuring he was alone as well, he was surprised when he caught movement through his peripheral vision and looked up, eyes widening when he spotted her. He'd heard of loreΒ of mermaids from Vivi but disregarded the fact that it could beΒ true.Β He stopped, unsureΒ if he should approach or if he should call out. Either could endΒ him upΒ byΒ himself.Β He chose the latter.
"u-uhm,Β H-hi?", he called to her cautiously, stuttering some.Β

Ariel heard the voice and her head turned to look in his direction. She was frozen, staring at him for a moment before hesitantly putting the locket in a bag that was hanging from her shoulder. The mermaid was unsure if she should get back into the water, but, studying him from where she was he didn't look intimidating at all...Β

Darting her eyes towards the ocean and then back at him, Ariel was still a bit nervous being spotted out in the open like this but... looking around her for any more humans, which she couldn't spot, she felt a bit better. It was funny, how she completely disagreed with her father about humans but got nervous like this. Her only explanation is the fact that she's never socialized with one, or got close.Β
Ariel inhaled, then exhaled at a strand of red hair in front of her face. Now that she thought about it, he looked more afraid or shaken than her. The redhead decided that, if he was indeed shaken by her presence, she might as well be a bit more friendlier than just staring at him. Ariel's red hair fell down in front of her shoulders and she bit her red under lip for a moment before smiling and waving at him. "...Hello...."Β
Pausing for a moment, she tilted her head to the side slightly.. "My name... it's Ariel."

The sea was truly an astounding thing to Legolas. It could be so peaceful and so violent at times, but at times at this, it was just quiet. There was seagulls crying around the area, reminding him of adventures of past. The elf managed to get on a rock out to the sea, but not too far from the shore. His usually free flowing hair was done in a ponytail, as he enjoyed the cool breeze. But he couldn't help but to notice someone nearby. Wait, there wasn't anyone when Legolas did a quick tour of the beach. And the sea Elves were long since history past.
But just in case, the prince slipped down into the water, holding onto the Rock and looking around. His eyes could spot the quick and fluid movements of someone. He called out, "...Who's there?", daring to let go and further swim out to the open.

under the sea . It's perfect dude! ;oΒ
The mermaid was swimming on by, and usually that was the rock she would meet her seagull friend but when she saw what looked like a human on it she nervously swam nearby the rock and moved away when he called out. Flounder, on the other hand was stopping in front of Ariel. "Are you crazy! Let's go before he sees us!" The words went through her ear and out the other, as usual. "He has pointy ears! I've never seen that before on a human." Ariel's nervousness turned into curiosity. "You see that! He has those sharp spear thingys in that holder thingy! He probably stabs fish with it!" The redhead gently grabbed the fish and kept him in front of her. "Look at his face, he's handsome!! Does he look like a killer to you?" Flounder escaped from her grip and frowned. Seeing how persistent she was, the fish turned around and swam away, off to go get help.Β
Ariel rolled her eyes, swimming downwards/deeper a bit before looking up at him. What was he doing?? She thought, staying in this spot therefore unless he dived down he wouldn't be able to see her.Β

He could quickly spot the moving figure, and the yellow and blue fish next to the stranger. But they both disappeared from his sight, leaving the elf confused on what to do, since there was no more Sea Elves anymore. Who could be out there, if it wasn't him? Β He stayed in the calm water for a few moments before starting to head back to the shore. Β With each step, he grew doubtful of his vision- there was not much reason to doubt so, but no one could be here.Β
As if fate wanted to answer his question, he realized that his green leaf pendant fell from his outfit. It must have been from all the travelling he was doing nowadays, and the troubles it went through with him. He wasn't going to lose it now, not after he meant so much to him, a reminder of his home. He dived down, grasping it before it sunk too low. Thank Valar it was there, he was about to swim up again until he saw a human- no that fish tail- watching him. From shock, the first thing he naturally did was to regain his breath, and looked around for the red-headed special 'human', wondering what was she.
He saw despicable creatures, like orcs and Witch-Kings, and halflings, dwarves, but not one like that. Due to his curiosity, he dove under again to make sure she was there. And she still was.

Fishy-tailz In reply to fxrewell [2016-05-16 21:10:29 +0000 UTC]
Flounder was gone, and she was still watching him with curiosity, as much curiosity as his, maybe even more. That necklace must of meant a lot to him, if he were to dive down for him. Ariel watch him break the surface again, but dived down again just to look at her. If she was here to harm him, she would of done it already but-- obviously, the way the redhead began to circle him while he was underwater, she was just harmlessly investigating. Those ears are what captured her interest the most because she's never seen any humans with ears like that. Now that she thought of it, his outfit was a bit different too. Her green tail helped her circle him, he was in her environment, and that was also probably why she felt more comfortable getting close.Β
Ariel suddenly shot a friendly smile at him, as if she found what he was doing cute.Β

Due to his unusually high physical strengths, he could stay underwater for quite a while. His eyes widen in amazement as he got a chance to see the mermaid a lot closer. For all his journeys and sights he've seen, Legolas never saw a human-like figure like this. Not especially with a fish body like that. Were there more humans like this in the sea? Why haven't he heard about it? Many questions flitted through his mind.
But they were all temporarily forgotten once he saw the friendly smile. His blue-grey eyes stared into blue ones, as he wanted to search any deception in them. Then he hesitantly showed a smile of his own in response.

Fishy-tailz In reply to fxrewell [2016-07-26 03:33:19 +0000 UTC]
Pretty much not the slightest of deception in them, and she was not supposed to be doing this. Because apparently, humans were the deceptive ones. She didn't believe that, nor did she know he was an elf, not a human. The mermaid suddenly swam up to the surface and popped her head out of the water as if she now wanted to talk. holy shit sorry for the late-ass reply

side by side. It's fine! And my response is late as well anyway-As the mermaid went up the water, Legolas had no choice except go to the surface as well. The fresh air filled his lungs, renewing the already strong vitality he had. He was still amazed that such human-creatures lived in the ocean. He only expected fish and what the humans call 'shells'. Wondering if she could talk, he said without much thinking, "Can you understand me?". He would have gone for Sindarin, but it seemed that Westron, the more widespread language, would be more useful in this situation.

Blake beamed brightly as he picked up another sea shell and put it in his bag. It was the first time the boy had arrived to a beach and when he found a sea shell he couldn't help but find fascination in it. Soon enough the boy had bought himself a bag and began collecting a variety of sea shells. Soon enough a particular sea shell caught his eye near the shore. Blake hastily tried to reach for it but he was far too slow, for the tide came along and washed it away.
"Ah jeez..." The boy cursed as he watched it drift off into the sea. "A-and it was such a pretty one t-too..."
