It all makes sense now...although to be honest, in my opinion,
Patrick's the better guitarist.
Being a guitar player myself, and knowing both guitar parts to every song since Honorable Mention, I feel I can safely make that judgement.

Very very true. I've been copying his voice when I sing in the shower since age 13. And I still fail at it. (I'm a hell of a lot better at it NOW though.)
And, the truly talented are always modest.
That's why I'm a talentless fuck.
But, I say that because I jokingly say I'm talented.
But that would make me talentless, if I werent saying it as a joke, therefore making me talented.
But if I say that full knowing that means Im talented, doesnt that make me talentless?

I think the "truly" is the key word in that phrase. Being aware of your abilities shows that you have them but aren't oblivious to them. Only when you've reached a truly genius level do you stop realizing just how much you've improved. At our age, it's perfectly reasonable to want to advertise the talent we do have even if there's plenty room for improvement.
