Hello, and sorry about the belated response!  I just returned from DragonCon (where I took some of my manly cosplays! Muahaha!)Haha, yes, I am one of the only young peeps in there (and look for Frocktarts in that too, she's my sister!) Thank you so much, and thanks about my costumes! I'm still growing and gaining skills, but it's loads of fun and I never had a fear of cosplaying whatever or whoever I want to. And what are some of your cosplays? I'd love to see them.

We did the Adams Family! I’m Morticia, my friend, is Gomez, and my big sister is Wednesday.

Then me and my siblings did everyone we could from Scooby Doo. (we didn’t have a Scooby except for that sleeping puppy in the corner) I am obviously Velma, my bro Hulkbuild is Fred, big sis is Daphne, and other bro is Shaggy. I told Hulkbuild to emulate Fred, but he just kept looking like a Hood Adjacent version. Hahaha!

Then there is my Steampunk Cosplay, of which I’ve done many. In both of these you’ll see my goggles, which Hulkbuild made for me (He is handy and has his own place on Instructables). He also made the tiny hat, and then I decorated it. The gloves I’m wearing I crocheted myself. He does more props and accessories, I like to do sewing and jewelry.

So good to hear back from you!! Yes, I saw your sister also and have found and followed her! I just haven’t had much time yet to explore either of your folders. Hopefully soon!

I have done a lot of cosplay over the years, so I’ll link you to a few just for starters. (I don’t have any actually up because I’m a little sheepish about posting them. They are nothing fantastic. I don’t have the funds to really go whole hog on my cosplays, but I try my best.)

Before I link you though, I have a few questions. If you don’t mind me asking, how old are you and your sister? I’m 19!

Also, it’s been my dream to go to a Con wearing my Batman costume, but I don’t want to go to one that is too far away, or costs too much. I live in-between Ash Flat and Batesville (just to give you an idea) and me and my friends want to go to one that would be fun for superhero driven cosplay, but I just don’t know which one would be the one for us. Do you have any advice? Do you know of any Con that would suit my preferences? I imagine you go to quite a few, so I just thought that you might know better than I, an inexperienced Con artist. (Haha, yes I just said that!)

Lastly, Haloween is coming! What are you going to dress up as?

Hi again! Forgive the delayed response, I was working on our workshop roof (in my adult-ing life, I'm a woodworker). Those are fantastic costumes! Fantastic work on the little things. We alll start somewhere. My sister is the sewing master, I make the props (and embroider, I actually like to embroider)  And no, I will not lie, money does help with more elaborate costumes. I have made some wonderful costumes out of stuff lying around.... but yanno, that perfect fabric, the perfect paints, the materials. >> Yes, i actually have a very low budget too, it's my biggest limit as well. Best Cons that are super hero driven? Well, on the national level, the big name ones are all super hero friendly. But on the local level, boy we are sparse, aren't we? There is one in Branson that is growing bigger every year, Visioncon. I'm contemplating going next year (it's usually in the beginning of march-ish). After that, you have to go as far as KC for the bigger ones. My sister and I have done DragonCon twice, and it's one of the best. Pricey (we really scrimp all year), and we have to split hotel costs with friends, and driving to Atlanta is costly. But lord, it's paradise. You can walk around dressed as ANYTHING and feel nothing but love and friendship everywhere. Every fandom you can think of everywhere. And believe it or not, I haven't done many cons myself either! I used to just make costumes at home for fun, people encouraged me to start taking them out more. Don't feel shy, I know it's daunting going out (especially when you are cros-playing) and you will hit naysayers. To hell with them.  Haha, my age? Boy, I am not sure how old i look, but your hint is I was born in the almighty year of Ghostbusters and Temple of Doom.... (I'm an old fogey! Even funnier, my sister is 9 minutes younger than me.) Haha, Halloween! I always  try and surprise people and usually don't tell them ahead of time. But the hint on that is it's from my newest favourite manga. ^^  Anyhow, don't hesitate to type or show me more.

Sup Inkibus!! No probs with the late responding, I don’t have internet at home, so sometimes I’m not on for weeks at a time. :’)

Thank you for you kind words about me and my friends cosplay!! None of them are perfect, but we have fun, and that’s all it’s really about isn’t it?

You are lucky to have a sibling that is so into it as you are!! That must keep it fun! It’s taken a while for my siblings to get into cosplay, but they are slowly doing it more. That’s neat that you like to embroider, that’s a lot of work!! :’D

Yeah, stuff lying around is the best. I am lucky to have a whole attic full of weird clothing that I can draw upon. But you are so right, money helps loads. Though it gets hard for me to put away cash for cosplay because I have so many other hobbies that I have to divide my cash into!! Especially art supplies (soooo expensive!!), and as a fellow artist, I’m sure you feel this to.

Thanks for the heads up about Visioncon!! I will definitely look into that!! And I’ll consider Dragoncon too, since I have a friend that lives in Northern Florida so it’d make a good trip. I am certainly surprised to hear that you haven’t gone to that many Cons. I thought for sure with all your amazing costumes that you’d be a die-hard!!

Oh, I’m not shy about presenting them in real life!! And I know about haters too!! :’D I went to see the LEGO Batman movie in fully decked out Batman costume and wandered the streets and Walmart too. All the moms and little girls were like, “Awesome!!!”. But all the ten year old boys just shook their heads. One called me weird; the other said they didn’t like me. Such close minded children! Lol. Like I was ruining Batman or something!! :’D

Haha, you don’t look that old! Shit, I pegged you younger!! So you and your sister are twins? Coool!!

Ahhh, I can’t wait to see who or what you go as!! I myself will go as Batman. (Favorite costume, hands down) I’ve been working hard to improve my Batman costume lately, so it’s time to take it for another spin. If everything goes well, I’ll maybe post some pictures to my actual page of the finished product!
