# About me
Meh, I draw every now and again, but artist sounds a bit highfalutin to me. I'm not very good, so I haven't been sharing stuff on here much since most of the people I want to share with are elsewhere on the net."Fried Flink Pamingos"

Hi Laura!
Yes, I shopped the woodpecker and nuthatch - they weren't cooperating.... in fact, none of them wanted to pose where I wanted them....so both of the birds in this piece were on our suet feeder and posing SO nicely, but I hated the look of the suet - I took it out. Thanks for the comment

Hi Laura!
Thanks for the wonderful comment on my Juvy Waxwing shot! I'd never noticed them myself, but they MUST have been around, the differences are subtle, unless you get a really close look.

Hi Laura!
Thanks for the great comments on Waiting His Turn and GO AWAY! The Grosbeaks show up more in northern states, but the southern states get lots of birds that we don't! (To my envy)

Hi Laura!
Ooops, I did not get a shot off of the recent lunar eclipse, I'm afraid I didn't know about it, until now. Darn, that would have been cool AND we actually had a string of decent days, too, some high clouds, but not all of the time. DARN! I need to mark up my calendar with important dates like that. Well, next time....Thanks for the note!

Well actually I forgot about it too. There wasn't much mention of it though. At least they happen more often than solar eclipses.

Hi Laura!
Thanks for the wonderful comments! You know, I was wondering about the orangeness of those House Finches myself. Maybe they need to mold (old feathers)? I don't see many (any?) Purple Finches - even though they are supposed to be around. I'll keep looking. Chickadees are GREAT! Now that we have some nesting in our yard, I'm hoping they will stick around year round. Happy birds, well, they make me happy!

don't ya mean molt... moldy birds just aren't any fun
But anywho, house finches are supposedly from the west coast... I don't know if they could hybridize with the purple finch. It's just that the finches here are not quiet the same red as in your picture or in the bird books. They're much easier to confuse here. Perhaps what you have is a different 'race' of house finches.
And chickadees, well I must confess they are one of my favourite songbirds. I like listening to them up in the trees... I'm working on bird identification by call since I'm more likely to hear the local birds than see them, since I don't have the best eyesight in the world.
Anywho, keep up the excellent work. I enjoy your bird photos.

People who visit, feel free to look at some of the other pictures.... sigh, this is why I shouldn't post a bunch all at once. Eh I just thought it would be nice since it will be a while before I get on here again (though I could be wrong about that).

Thanks for the on Wary Eye! With most of the leaves down, it makes hawk shooting easier.

I saw a red tail hawk land in a near by tree Tuesday of this week. Too bad I didn't have my camera. Too many of my pictures are grainy when you zoom in on them... maybe it's the setting. either that or it's time I buy a new one.
Anywho, thanks for the comment on the spider's web. I like to wander around campus and look for everday nature, the kind that is right in front of us but most people never pay it much attention to.
