Ah I noticed that your using Octane correct? See I got a new rig lately, and I was thinking about going in that direction. You did a blog about rendering engines I believe.Β

I actually use Iray, but I have tested Octane and am interested in it. Octane with it's stand alone application offers a lot of flexibility we don't yet have with Iray in DAZ Studio. Which software are you currently using?

Shitty ass Poser, I bought a new gaming rig and that crappy ass program still runs like shit when I want to render a lot of figures. I can run high end games trouble free, including stuff like Battlefield, but when I Want to render? I have to put up with render stops and all those other pain in the back problems.Β
From what I heard Octane uses your graphic card which means the faster the card the faster the render. Poser really need to get its act together.

What is your processor? If you have an intel i7 you won't get much better rendering performance unless you go for the more expensive variants.
The latest Poser Pro has a new render engine that uses nvidia based cards, the same as DAZ Studio does. They aren't always faster though, it really depends on the sort of work you're doing. For most of the sort ofΒ stuff we do they are faster.

I haven't used it, so I don't know much about it. It uses the Blender Cycles engine, so it should be quite well developed. It certainly wouldn't be as developed as Iray or Octane.
