# About me
Jackie Lockard is a talented amateur photographer who got her first camera as a teenager and has been addicted ever since. After getting her dad's hand-me-downs, graduating high school all she wanted was her very own "real" camera. It remained her treasured possession until she finally bought her own Nikon DSLR. Having two jobs and hobbies on top of that means that the camera has never gotten the dedication she wishes she could show it, but each opportunity she is presented with the ability to take photos there are usually hundreds taken in a single afternoon. Sitting down at a computer later and processing them with a mug of warm tea is a great evening pass time for Jackie.While enjoying all photography, she particularly enjoys combining her passion for animals, sports, and photography. As an avid dog trainer and mounted archer, you can expect many unique photos from the training fields. Standing in one location and snapping dozens of the same photos of horses coming down the pass with riders at full draw is easy, and while it can make for some stunning photos, she recognizes that these cliche shots get boring. She relishes finding new angles and new frames for each photo. Always fascinated by the details that make the world go round and let us function autonomously in our day to day lives, macrophotography comes in at a close second.
Though photography has remained the real driving force behind her creativity, Jackie Lockard dabbles in all forms of art, particularly watercolor and acrylic paintings. Her paintings reflect her eclectic interests. While mostly focusing on equine subjects, she has painted everything from industrial parks to stingrays and her style ranges from completely abstract to realistic.
In her spare time she enjoys continuing her education. Subjects include learning new languages and staying up to date on the latest in animal behavior science.
