Unfortunately due to funds I will not be attending. I will be at London Comic Con October and will be attending Birmingham Comic Con in November for the day Would be lovely to do all the conventions around the UK though at some point. I know a few friends of mine are going to a convention in Leeds, is that Thought bubble per chance?

That will be thought bubble, it's not official as not listed on the official comic con and cosplay website, i might come to Birmingham and do I have to change my character often as it's expensive to spend money on being someone to become someone else weeks later.

Cosplay can be expensive, however I have recently dived into my cosplay box up in the attic and found stuff I haven't seen for years.
I've been re-making a few pieces that I know haven't stand the test of time and decided to wear them out again.

You don't need a new costume every time a new convention comes on to your agenda. If you love the character I don't see a problem in wearing the costume on several occasions It's cheaper and easier. Once you've built a cosplay collection you can swap and change as you please and then add one new one a year or every so often then.

Thank-you so much for the advice, I can start to pick an outfit and my wig will be arriving, it was £140 but had to be made custom as Avery Jennings has hard hair to find and I do my best.

Remember that cosplay is fun If it's not complete the first time, don't worry. There's plenty more conventions to wear it again completed. For £140 wig alone I would wear it to a few conventions to get the full wear of the wig. Where's Avery Jennings from may I ask?

she's from Disney series Dog with a blog, as I try to keep up with what's new and her outfit will be quite cheap and i don't know if I can go to Manchester comic con as my wig might not arrive yet, it's been dispatched 2 days ago.

Hopefully it will for you. I always get my wigs ordered before anything else as they can take between 2 - 8 weeks depending on where it's coming from. There's a UK wig site called Coscraft which can do same week deliveries. Quite reasonable and the wigs are good quality if you are stuck.

I like the sound of that, once I picked my character I like to know an outfit is possible before I order my wig, I am new to this so use Etsy, there is someone there who makes great princess wigs and I do like my wigs to be good quality, just a shame it couldn't be made of real hair and Manchester is 4 days away and I've nothing prepared so might give it a miss.

You can always go to Manchester to soak up the atmosphere, you don't necessarily have to wear a costume. There's plenty of stalls, panels, and shows going on throughout the day. It will give you a good idea how other Comic cons will be and also you can maybe snap your favourite characters if you see them

I hardly know the characters some of these people portray these days, they all have pink, blue and green hair and not like the princesses I know.
I suppose it's worth a shot going although i still have to find Avery's outfit which has been difficult and wearing a costume hides the social anxiety of being yourself.

Majority of brightly coloured wigs are usually characters from Japanese animation and manga. Some are from games and some from comic books. You'll find it, resourcing pieces can be the hardest part. A costume helps with confidences because you do feel like you are the character, so you act like the character instead of yourself. Its a big bonus when people notice who you are and asks for a photo.

With this one they've been causing problems for me since April, I found out that's when I got my unconditional offer, they made a mistake with my account back then and created another one and were supposed to merge the accounts... and I only found out a few weeks ago they STILL hadn't done any of that, kept telling me I needed more evidence then going "oh we found it you did send it in" and it looks like I will have to drop out cos it's still not sorted out ;__; which will mean no expo or anything, argh. Such a butt.
