it depends on what is better to you, you know, for example I divide the papier into 4 parts, and the picture too. than I star to draw shilouette or lines of the body. and that the face... It's better to divide the paper and the picture into small parts, so you can do proportions well.

I'll write you in english, because my spanish is not that good 
You should try something less difficult, for example a portrait of somebody you know. And very important is to stop your work after few hours and than when you get back to it, you'll see mistakes that you have done, but you can fix them. I help myself for example that I take pictures of what I'm drawing and I'm comparing it with the photo, so that I can see what I have done wrong.
I usually make a sketch of a person or thing I'm going to draw and when I'm completely content with that, I start shading etc.
