You're welcome! But no need to thank. Your work is amazing, at first I thought it was all photos! You achieve a high level of realism, very detailed drawings.

Sorry to ask, but do you use any special technique? Because really,  it is hard to tell your art is made only with color pencils!!  When I grow up, I want to be like you!

I spent about 6 months experimenting with the polychromos pencils when I first got them to see what I could do with them with regards to colour, shading, intensity etc etc.
Each day I try to draw for a minimum of 2 hours. Days off I might spend 12 hours at the desk

Photorealism is basically an art study in details and colour. Not easy to tackle as a beginner.
I love detail work - it's my artistic happy place.
My art teacher told me 'Always look deeper' and to 'Look for what's not supposed to be there'.
Sometimes that can be a shape, a shade, a colour but it's those imperfections that make the image real.
It's taken years for me to get where I am now and I'm still only an amateur. There are folks out there much better than me but it gives me something to aim for

Colour in this type of art is basically a layering and pressure process. This was self-taught through lost of practice.
It's a mix between gentle pressure, long nib and delicate 'wash' layers on the paper.
Then this is mixed with sharp / stub nib, higher pressure and detail marks in between and then repeat as necessary.
Polychromos are quite 'oily' with the pigment and you can go from gentle bleached out washes to really hard animated style block colour.
It all comes back to nib, pressure, shape and angle.
I've had to teach myself this over the last 7 years and I'm still learning new ways to do it now.
Sometimes new techniques work, sometimes they don't but art is a continual learning process for me so it's all fun

All I can say is to find the technique that works best for you and go for it. Just keep drawing, keep experimenting and enjoy the ride.

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply my comment and of course for the tips.

I have always loved drawing, but never really invested enough time in it. Now I'm trying to draw more often, specially realism, and as you say, I've already noticed that details are what makes the difference! Never really used color pencils though, but for sure is something I will try out someday! Meanwhile I will keep on working and improving my skills!

As I am a self taught artist I really appreciate tips and feedback from more advanced artists, it helps a lot in the process So thank you again, and congratulations for your amazing gallery!

Yes, it takes a lot of time and practice to get the skills for colour pencils but it's a worthwhile investment.
Basically find the medium that you love the most (pencils, charcoal, pens, inks, paints) and just go for it.
