Just to reply to your forum post which was closed, cracking OSX won't gain you the benefits of the Mac platform as it's really the hardware/software combination that makes the Mac platform great. All the hardware is vetted and chosen by Apple, they supervise or write all the drivers and make sure everything is as close to 100% as possible in terms of quality and stability, something which simply cannot happen on the PC platform due to the huge number of hardware combinations, all coming from different suppliers with varying levels of quality control, and for one OS to have to handle all those different combinations is quite some task, one which I believe is impossible to gain 100% quality with. There's also the tradition that many design companies have of trusting Apple to make a good machine, which they very rarely fail to deliver, their staff know Apple software and hardware so there's also the training aspect of it (i.e. they started with Apple and don't want to have to spend lots of money retraining staff on a PC platform).
