Sorry for the late response, I been really on a major hiatus from art lately.....sigh

There is definitely a learning curve on the Wacom and PS...at times I hate it, but I also realize how much benefit they both have.

I"m sorry that you were taking such a big break from art. I hope that everything is okay!

May I ask how you learned your way around photoshop? I've been struggling with learning the most efficient ways to use it with my art. Also, may I ask how you get such clean lines with that variety in thickness with your outlines (Like in your "Red Sonja" artwork)? I'd really like to outline my work with a beautiful line full of different thicknesses. But I'm unsure how to do so.

I'm hoping that I get the enjoyment again soon, lol. I tend to do this alot....I'll draw for a few months or so....then take years off

For me I learned PS by watching videos, just messing with different stuff and trying out things and seeing how it went. I knew how to pencil draw pretty decently before I used PS so I had a bit of experience under my belt, but when I started with PS I had to re-learn some stuff and really did alot of self learning just by messing around.

For that piece I used Steven Sanchez's pencil work and asked him if I could ink it. What I used was the pen tool which makes vector lines. It takes some practice using the anchor points, but I like to use vector lines for comic type art where solid lines can really stand out.

I'll look at some of your art and maybe give some ideas if you are interested and thanks for the compliments I really do appreciate it and hope that it can give me the push I need to start up again, lol

Yes, well art being the line of work I want ignoring isn't an option sadly. Maybe some sorta collaboration might motivate you whatever's more important of course. Nice to hear you're still alive!

Brown is...something something. Few months away from a degree. Though for the last several months I haven't had anything related to my intended field so everything portfolio I've done on the side. Ironic no?

Glad you're still motivated by art and want it....I tend to come and go in my art motivations. I know I'll never get work in the field and due to this makes me less interested. More than likely I'll pick it up again sooner or later and go for a few months then take a few off, lol

Hope things work out after graduation!! Its tough out there, stay focused and do what you have to.

Well I look at it this way; in order to get work in the field I need something to show I have a snowballs clue in hell that I have any idea what I'm doing. That's a big part of my motivation really. Creation is great but I'm also looking to obtain something with it...partly because I just can't see doing something else as a career. Looking at what you have on here right at this very second I sort of find it hard to believe that none of it is sitting in an RPG source-book (40k has lots of images like these) or even on a wall as concept material. I'm a bit open minded though. If I can get a job as a graphic artist I'm not even terribly picky about the media. I think even without an Arts degree I would show some of this stuff around though.

Glad to hear that you are staying motivated, you have the skill and desire to succeed.

As for me my biggest obstacle has been my lack of confidence and fear of rejection. I've almost never sent my art out or tried to see what people think due to fear of rejection and ridicule I guess.

I often wish I had the confidence and mind set to just push myself and get my name out there regardless of what happens, but I dont and never have. I do get very envious as well which kills my motivation when I see others better than me and I look at my skill and realize I dont have what they have.

You're still young and have the motivation I say just keep on going for it and hopefully t all pays off!

I been popping in from time to time, been hard to find the time to do much with new baby. I watch the baby all day every day, can't get much time to draw, lol.

But I've been practicing and started a new piece yesterday that I'll post hopefully tomorrow.
