I've been hesitant to post fan art on here that has actual pictures from series' and stuff because I'm not quite clear on dA's copyright policy. I'm assuming you have no trouble with that from all the fan posts you have. Is there certain criteria I just have to not overstep?

Well, you can always write that you don't own these pics etc. but honestly I don't think it would help if someone reports you. They may delete your stuff and your account but I guess you would be warned first.
