Most of the weapons I use a 3D printed base most of the time is spent on post processing and cleaning them up, for the most part its a mixed media build.

sometimes i would sculpt over or modify a 3d printed part essentially

I actually wasnt at dragoncon. But I presume you ran into my friends modeling the Destiny masks and rifles?

OIC, they were some of our favorite Destiny weapons at D*C. We almost thought they were casts because they were so
smooth. Lights were an awesome touch too. 

We make most of our armor and weapons out of foam for weight purposes. There are a few 3D printed pieces like the chest emblem.

holy smokes your titan is amazing! I've been thinking about building one for myself 2 but I do not have a lot of experience with foam (most of my costumes are fabric heavy)

We're just the opposite here, we got the foam down!! Fabric...mmm not so much. lol!!

how crazy is that?!?! what a small con world. we definitely will all have to get photos at future cons.  I saw yours friday night and there was another oberyn saturday, but I just found the photo and it's crazy blurry  
boo.  but.  I always end up plotting impromptu thrones meetups at cons, so we'll have to stay in the loop
