Most people call me Havanah and I am a student living between the UK and the Netherlands.DeviantArt is a place where I shove my doodles and photos when the mood takes me so I can't say I'm particularly active here.

Life's been a bit hectic (of course, I've been sitting ALL my AS exams this year) but it's absolutely fantastic! Not complaining in the slightest!

It's been awesome too thanks, things seem to be generally good as my tablet's working, exams went fine and I'm thinking of doing paid art commisions in a while...maybe for my masks perhaps maybe possibly...

Fantastic. I'm just pottering at the moment. Getting into portrait work but finding it kinda scary! I do love it though.
Actually, as you've been scanning paintings into dA long before I started (I think loL)... scanner advice: Whenever I scan a painting the join of two colours ends up with white dots as though I hadn't covered the paper properly. Not sign of any thinness of paint in reality. Using slightly textured paper so it's not even like it's canvas (or the like) so not sure quite what's causing it. Any ideas? Because it's on the join of two colours it's hell to edit out without causing bleeding!

Well, mostly I just cheat and take a photo of my larger-than-A4-work, but I find when I'm scanning something like that in two parts, the colour join messes up for me too...what I do is use an art program to smooth the colours into each other, but again I suppose that's cheating.
Hmmm...mybe try scanning an overlap so that you can just crop the edges out...?
