Thanks very much for your comment. I really enjoy looking at your pictures. Recently I was in the USA and in California, too. I enjoyed San Francisco and its surroundings. But back home I suffered from a terrible jet lag. But I think I'd like to go there again.
I took photos and did quite a few drawings in the US. Being somewhere different is a good input for one's art.

First of all, thank you for the new faves. I'm glad you enjoyed California. When you were in San Francisco, you were about 100 miles (~161 km) north of where I live. My ladyfriend is visiting friends in France right now. She's likely suffering jet lag now, or when she returns. (I agree with you about traveling -- I wish I could have gone with her.)

Thanks for the watch... I too am working on portraits... your work will help me grow. Just wondering have you come across a portrait reference book "Facial Expressions: Visual Reference for Artists." It's just hundreds of picture of face with different emotional expressions. You see 60+ images of each face from different angles and expressions. Wondering what you think of it? I've just started using it to grow my practice.

Thanks for you watch too. I've just had a superficial glance at the book you've mentioned. It looks good for people who like to draw from photos; I've never done that very much so I really can't say. I think if I would draw a comic book I would rely on a book like this as in realistic comic books different facial expressions really matter.

I'm interested in knowing faces in all their variety so as to do portraits that are expressive so as to capture the characters of the people I paint... So often people only do portraits of relaxed almost expressionless faces... I do want to do a graphic novel but I'm more interested in beautifully painted portraits...
