# About me

Hello all, you can call me Ren. I'm just all your around geek who enjoys music, reading, video games and photography. As far as being an artist I play bass guitar, although that has been on a long hiatus in my life, and I do photography. I may occasionally post some of the photos I take, but I mostly joined this site to support all you great artists that are on here. If you stop by my page, drop me a line and I will check out the art on your page. I enjoy it all: drawings, fanfics, creative writing, photos, you name it. That's about it for me, so see you around.

Thanks for visiting my page. And quite the gorgeous instrument you have there in your photos!

I have a vintage 1980 Japanese Matsumoku-built Vantage VA900, myself. Love it!

Your quite welcome.Your fanfic caught my eye, so i had to read all of it. And thanks for the compliment on my guitar. The guitar you have you have sounds awesome too, but i'm not familiar with too many japanese models, so do you have a picture of it?

Details are on the left side-bar of the gallery's page.

I also have a recording of me playing here: [link]

And which fan-fic was it that you read? I have a few up. My biggest one so far, and still in progress, is "Two Plus One". Over 17,000 words so far.

That's a beautiful guitar. Don't you just love thru-neck construction better than bolt on? It sounds so much better, and gives you better sustain. Nice blues scale riff as well. That was the first scale i learned, and it's always alot of fun to mess around with when your chilling. I only learned guitar for a little bit though, and that was mostly to get better at playing bass which is my favorite. I was reading Loves Second Chance. Very nice story.

Yeah. I'm saving up for my first bass guitar now. I'll hopefully have it between August and September. It won't be much, as finances are limited - I'm looking at a Squier Vintage Modified Jaguar Special SS. I'd also like to get some DR Nickel Lo-Rider strings for it at some point after getting it. One of my favourite bassists, Paul Turner, uses those strings on his Fender American Standard Jazz Bass (he has 2. One is 4-string, one is 5-string).

Love's Second Chance was my first fully completed fan-fiction. I'm glad you liked it. I've made a few more since, but they're not Sonic fandom related. So I'm not sure if you'd like them much. But if you want to go ahead anyways, be my guest.

Squier is a good brand, so i'm sure you will be happy with it. I have a Kramer from the 80's, but i want to get a new bass cuz she's getting old and i want to preserve her(Sorry i don't have any pictures of her posted up yet). My dream bass would be either a Warwick, Spectre, or a Music Man Sting Wray, but since I'm not rich i would settle for an Epiphone Thunderbird, or a good Schecter bass. I usually use Ernie Ball strings, but i aslo like the DR Nickels and the DR Blacks.

As for your fan-fics, I don't care if it's Sonic fandom or not. I was just browsing around when i found your story and it caught my interest. I enjoy a good story, so i will check them out.

Spector's better over Warwick. Warwick uses a wood called "Ovangkol" in some of their guitars, which comes from an endangered and highly localized African Bubinga tree species. Spector uses only sustainable resources for their guitars.

Well warwick may not have the best business practices, but you can't deny the quality of their instruments.

It's true. Warwick basses are amazing in craftsmanship and tone. I just wish they'd utilize sustainable resources, instead of threatening the eco-system. Forgive me if I sound a bit of a tree-hugging hippie. But I have a strong respect and love for our planet; it's all we've got right now.
