I just wanted to respond to your comment on one of my threads because the conversation hung up when the thread was closed.
Scanning can work , but you do have to learn howwhats called a stitch to stitch pictures together. Umm I know it some where on youtube where a guy took off the lid on his scanner and started scanning it using books or a yard stick to verify what he had scan. It does take alot of work. For me I still lost alot of color or not matching color when I scanned smaller art.Photo editing if often used to gain back the color on when you transfer, even photographers use it to have that HDMI quality. Using a camera is all about lighting.Morning light is awesome, but sometimes gives off glare..For inside lighting which has less glare I used natural light bulb, its better and brighter . If your shaking alot on the picture use a table and hold it .
That sounds rather technical. I have tried setting the scan resolution to the maximum setting and it has made a large difference so far. Also, about the whole thing concerning "flat" pictures, I realized it was more my own problem than the scanner's problem. It seems like digital scanning loves magnifying your artistic errors by twofold...

. It is true that if you have error it will show up scanning ,but its a great way to go back and fix it. Like I have said before to others alot of times we don't see errors untill we step back or take a picture of the work or put in front of a mirror. There are different ways and technics to see error that you normally can't find. Alot of artist go back until it looks right . Art takes time and if you want it to look great then you go by stitching or photo. Photo editing to get the same contrast as close as you can or play in light so your colors are match. By all means it takes a great deal of work on both, but the better your pictures come out especially if your printing it out better you gain focus from the consumers. Art is never poof your done , art is always working progress and sometimes frustration,

I like your last sentence. It reminds me of a quote by Leonardo da Vinci which goes "Art is never finished, only abandoned." Nonetheless, I generally abandon my drawings whenever the benefit becomes too small relative to the time and effort invested.
In any case, I found putting a stack of books on top of the printer is a good way to minimize distortion and setting the scan quality to max settings is a good way of getting high-quality scans.
