Dave,

Unfortunately, I don't have any great advice or tip. The only way to draw realistic legs is the same way to draw anything. Just draw it. When you're done, compare to your reference, determine what went wrong, and draw them again. And again. And again. And so on and so forth. Do it until you learn the patterns, understand how the muscles work and react, memorize the proportions, etc. Don't stop studying.

I do wish I had some sort of short cut or great insight, but the truth is that you just have to put in the time and you will get better.
