Aw, thanks! No, I'm still here lurking...but my time is totally consumed by graduate school, and meeting the love of my life, and planning our wedding (we're getting married in December, in INDIA!!), and just general life things. I log on to DA almost every day, but I can't ever seem to find the time to comment on the artwork that comes through my inbox and certainly not to post things of my own. Which is totally sad, because my family bought me a nice DSLR camera for Christmas last year and I've already taken over 10,000 pictures with it!
I'll try to make an effort to be around a little more; I've enjoyed looking at every picture you've posted though through my absence, even if I didn't comment or fave.

I am in graduate school working on a PhD in biology. Basically, all of my free time has been sucked away into oblivion.
I don't think I've drawn anything in ages. Maybe a doodle on a piece of notebook paper?? I'm going to try to spend more time admiring the art of all the people I have enjoyed through the years, but it's hard to find the time!

I would love to teach at the university level. Teaching is definitely my passion. I absolutely love the feeling when I see the light bulb click on in a student's mind!! So, right now I get to teach and do research. I'm not as gungho about the research, but I'm working through it, so in the end it should be worth it I hope!

The world definitely needs more teachers and I believe you when you say it's fulfilling.
I don't think I'm cut out to be a teacher, I'm giving my mother computer lessons at the moment and I keep trying to find references she can relate to, but it's difficult.

if a fairy wren is anything like the North American wren species then it is indeed quite the accomplishment to get a worthwhile picture of one! The bird is absolutely stunning and it's a marvelous capture. Great job.
