# About me
I don't like talking about myself. I'd rather talk about what I do, make, or am interested in, so that's what I'll do here. I've been a professional artist since graduating high school, providing paintings and illustrations for more books, magazines, comics and private clients than I can honestly remember at this point. I'm an obsessive workaholic, which is both a strength and a weakness in that it can definitely lead to other parts of my life suffering somewhat, but I'm pretty much ok with it. 3D art became a kind of obsession for me starting in the early-mid 90's when, while working as a production artist for a large sports memorabilia, I had my first encounter with Ray Dream, Infini-D and the first version of Poser, then from Metacreations. It may be dating myself here, but I think I've had a very fortunate vantage point on the explosion of art, technology and communication because of being just old enough to have had to begun my career without the internet, but also just young enough to have evolved right alongside it. Back in the day, I produced my first personal 3d art pieces using a home-built PC with a 90mhz Pentium and a whopping 96 megs of ram, running 3D Studio DOS and eventually, Max... blazingfor it's day. Over the years, my tools changed as they did for most, evolving with the times. Max gave way to Maya for me, and Zbrush became a primary tool. I've had the good fortune to have gone on from my roots in comic book illustration, something I still love dearly, to have a wide variety of experiences in gaming, broadcast and film animation.
Thanks for checking out my work. Hopefully there's something in my visual ramblings that might appeal to you. And if not, well... thanks anyway. :) -Les

Wow. It's been a while since I checked in here. Sorry to everyone who posts here occasionally for being MIA. Too many sites for one guy to keep up with while carrying the kind of work load I normally do. I've said it before and floundered on it, but I hope to start checking back in here a lot more often.

I'm pretty sure I remember visiting your store at sixus1.com not too long ago Β but now it is gone.
Are you going to be exclusively on CGBytes.com from now on?

So I came across something of yours over at Renderotica, a new monster figure called Dark VoidΒ Amalgamate. Question is, are you going to make more monsters like this? Please say yes! I've been keeping my eyes on your monsters for a long long time, been saving up so I can get em. They will definitely play a vast role in my scifi thriller for damn sure. Genesis has been getting all the cool shit lately, I'm glad you did a version of this creature for poser, it's rare to find massive monster types that are stand alone, and I need more beast like this that will pose greater threats. Can't wait to see what else you have. I think EurogenesisΒ and someone named CGbytes had a hand in this one too. Either way, find it very appealing. I cannot wait fight this thing in my story.Β

I love the Gigli line. If you're thinking of expanding it in the future, how about a frog, gargoyle, and owl in the same style?

Hey man what did you do with all your cool Horror stuff that was on Runtime DNA? Its all gone. I remember wanting to buy some of it, then I realized it was taken down. Couldn't find it anywhere else.Β

We pulled out of there a few years back for a variety of reasons, and have shelved a lot of our stuff for a time while we worked on some new partnerships. Sorry for the massively delayed response here...Β
www.cgbytes.com/content-artist⦠is where you will find most of our products, new and old, showing up. Not everything is there yet, but it's all headed there soon.

Well I'm curious to know what your reasons are. I noticed there are three of my favorite vendors gone from there. Sad really, one of them use to have some cool baby clothes for V4, then she was forced to pull it all out of the shop because I guess it was "inappropriate." Don't know why she never bothered to open up an independent shop or something. I was only able to get one set from her before she vanished.

There was just a combination of things, really. It's hard to get into, but sometimes you just have to make a decision like that for your business. Moving back to Rendo was a good decision at the time that was a building block toward where we are today, branching out into other places and building new things. When you've been at this as long as I have, sometimes you just have to turn a corner and plot a new course to find new territory.

Gotta say, I love your Nyhloghast. Β Besides looking absolutely amazing, the available variations are really great. Β I'm particularly impressed with how well the entire product is structured - very professional! Β Β Also got the Morphing Tutorial - only part way through so far - but it gave me the hints I needed.Β
Thanks! Β

Thank you so much for creating the Meowl. This is something that was terribly needed and inspired me right away. It is such a cute thing and the "forgot to pull back the tongue" dial made me laugh so much...

Hey folks! Got some questions for y'all...
1. Name a creature you'd like to see as a Sixus1 release for Poser. Can be anything so long as it isn't a copyright held by someone.Β
2. Name a topic you'd like to see a Sixus1 tutorial video cover. Tiggersprings: your magnet request is in the works...
3. Name a classic comic book character you'd like to see my take on in traditional media, not 3d.Β
4. Name your favorite "odd" food. Yup. Has nothing to do with art. But I love trying all kinds of crazy foods, so... there.
and.... Go!

1.Β Oh... Animals. A Hedgehog would be great.Β I don't know if it's possible.
2. I thought I replied before on the magnet tut: You've made me very happy. Β
I love the morph tool tutorial. I'm finding my growing skill at using it very, very handy. I still need practice, but... LOL
3. Erm... Don't follow comics much... Wolverine?
4. Odd food... Dairy? I'm allergic...

Thank you for your morph tool tutorial. After years of swearing--and nearly crying--at attempts to try to make friends with that tool, something finally clicked with your tutorial.Β About a week and a half before you released the tutorial, I had tried to "loosen" a bit clothing to eliminate a bit of collar and breast poke-through and just didn't get there.Β I wound up doing postwork.Β I watched your tutorial the other day and played with the brush a bit afterwards and went back at it yesterday and did a practice round on another scene that had been problematic.Β My first efforts are rough--and didn't look too 'pretty' in spots, but it will probably take a little practice.Β
I finished a scene yesterday. NoteΒ that the dress doesn't fit the figure. It's Lil Bit's dress on the rabbit.Β I scaled the dress and posed it to fit (from mostly head-on main camera forward angle). Then, I used what i learned in your tutorial to fix bits of pokethough. Β It's probably decidedly 'uncool' as renders go by Sixus1 standards (since you normally make beasties, monsters, and other cool dark fantasy things), but I'm pretty happy.
fav.me/d7gmlj3
Interestingly, your tutorial confirmed something for me... When I was trying to eliminate the collar and breast poke-through on my my other image weeks back, I had trouble with Poser crashing a few times. Why? Because I tried to reposition lights while the morph tool was active. I thought it was something I had done, or some problem with our PC.Β So, it wasn't my imagination, nor anything I had done, since you said it was common.Β Β
Any way... Thanks.Β Please consider doing a Poser magnet tutorial. I made progress with the morph tool with your help. Maybe I could finally conquer magnets with your assistance.

Nothing uncool about it. I dig cute stuff too, and sometimes have been known to dabble in such things, though admittedly my association with monsters and dark subject matter tends to keep my lighter side from getting looked at much.
Very glad the tutorial could be of help! Going to check and see if you left a comment on Rendo.. a comment like this over there really does help let people make their decision on buying a product from us.Β
Definitely going to take your suggestion on magnets and do a dedicated magnet video soon, as there are some absolutely insane things that can be done with them that I think people have no idea are even capable! -Les

Thank you!
I have quite a few of your toons from way back at Content Paradise.
I didn't leave a review @ Rendo because I bought direct from your site store. I did post this in the pic in the gallery, so it should show on the 'Gallery' tab for your tutorial there, though.Β I really am so very pleased. I fixed more poke-through the other day without having to fiddle with morph dials for hours, hide body parts, ect.
I'm so happy to hear you're going to consider covering magnets.Β I know there's probably loads of neat tricks for them. I've watched or read other tutorials and just can't get the hang of doing anything with them outside of using Netherworks' old morph magnet kits (add morphs to clothing).Β The last few times I've tried to tackle magnets, I wound up getting so frustrated that I didn't open Poser for days.Β

Was checking to see if there was a Sixus1 appreciation group and found you had a Deviant Account, and figured I'd drop in and say hello. I've had a lot of fun with your figures of the years (productivity's slow right now because my system just can't handle the increasingly complex scenes I am throwing at it). Keep the figures coming, and I'll keep trying to do stuff with them. Got some recent acquisitions I need to unzip yet and use (some newer figures, some are golden oldies made re-available).

BTW: I think it's a load of CRAP that DA allows political banners on this site. Someone who doesn't know any better could totally think the stuff is some kind of endorsement one way or the other and it's just plain lame. I come here to post art, see art, share art and not to be preached to about politics. There are places where I discuss those things, but not here. DA, to me, should be about art and entertainment, not politics. Thank you all. Rant over and out.
