actually, turns out my computer fails on an epic scale when running steam games...so I uninstalled it.

What happened with the demo was, about 10 or 20 seconds into the Ravenholm half of it, (the demo takes you from the opening movie to the apartment building in City 17, then jumps straight to ravenholm), my screen flashed blue with lots of text all over the place, then my computer restarted itself. Which I can only assume is a driver failure because all I have is an SiS760 chipset.

Well, the only solution is upgrading, I guess.
If you do, I suggest you buy The Orange Box and the Half-Life 1 Anthology. That's pretty much all you need. (Excluding Garry's Mod and Audiosurf)
