Aw shucks, thanks! You even figured out I love 90's grunge and anime! At least I'd like Taylor Anderson to give closure to the war with the Grik Empire and return to the old days of adventure and exploration. Don't get me wrong, the conflict with the Grik Empire has been exciting and nail-biting from the beginning but it's been relentlessly grinding away for the last 4 volumes and I'm already getting PTSD.

I haven't read river of bones yet. waiting for the paper back version. but I am currently caught up from finishing devils due. and true it has been grinding with the last four volumes. and things are only gonna heat up more. who knows what the next book may bring. we still have a lot of unexplored lands and not to mention the league of Tripoli and the doms to contend with. and agreed same here.

You might try a Character portrait like say Chack-Sab-At Lieutenant Coronal Chack 'Chackie' Sab-At only better, I reshaped a Rocket Racoon art, added a Krag rifle.  Note three brod stripes on kilt, a Commander in the Navy or Lieutenant Colonel in the Marines, and of course rakish dough boy helmet covering one ear.  Another failure was my attempt at Keje Portrait of Admiral Keje Fris-Ar

Interesting you're bringing this up. I've been contemplating posting character profiles. In fact, my sketchbook is full of them. I've drawn many Alliance members so far. At the moment they're all pencil sketches but if you think it's worth it, I'll clean them up, ink and color them.

Don't sell yourself short, I've seen your portraits and I do find them quite endearing! You should put some meat in Keje's bones though, author says he looks like a bear-shaped 'Cat. And about the rank stripes on kilts: on my recruitment poster, I've drawn them as all horizontal and continuous around the hem. I see you drew a single horizontal and thick vertical stripes in front. Is that how Taylor really saw them?

I see: NCOs horizontal, officers vertical, and "NCO stripes around the bottom ABOVE the hem."  I gave my 'Cat Sergeant 3 stripes all AROUND the hem to match his arm patch since that's how I understood description at the time. Thanks for the clarification! However, should it make a difference since my 'Cat is a Marine, not a sailor?

Been communicating with Taylor via email, thanks for the recommendation. BTW, he said he's working on a Petey pic and I told him my next pic (D-Men04) already features Petey in it.

Non Comps horizontal stripes commissioned officers vertical.  Colonel Shinya wore Lemurian Marine kit, kilt rhiono pig armor bronze greaves. "He also had the vertical red stripes of an officer on his kilt instead of horizontal NCO stripes around the bottom above the hem. [FS PB p 64] Firestorm paperback page 64 if you are not familiar with my abbreviations.  For NCOs see destroyermen.wikia.com/wiki/Le… I assume the officer ranks are like the sleeve marks of the navy only Vertical, four large Red bars for a Colonel  But it's Navy, well I'm a Squid and so are the Destroyermen   Use gold big bars for Admirals and Generals.  Taylor has done some portrates fairly recent they are on the Wiki.  This may help www.facebook.com/groups/107620… or www.facebook.com/DestroyermenW…
