The two easy forms of beginner astrophotography (which you should be able to do with your current photography equipment) are startrails and static shots of the moon. For both you will need a tripod and for the star trails you ideally need a remote/cable shutter release. For startrails (and static stars) i'll just give you this great tutorial on how to do them [link] . For static shots of the moon you need to use your camera in manual mode. Use the longest focal length you have and put the camera on your tripod and point it at the preferably fullish moon to start with. Set the aperture to a low to medium value (6 to 10) and the ISO fairly low as well (100-400). Manually focus on the moon (autofocus generally finds it hard to focus on the moon)- if you have live view focus use it to zoom in and focus perfectly on the moon. Put the shutter on a delay of 10 seconds (so you don't vibrate the camera when triggering the shutter) Now set a high shutter speed of say 1/2500th of a second a take a test shot. Was the moon over exposed/underexposed? Adjust the shutter speed accordingly. The settings you will use will vary due to the brightness of the moon.
I hope this helps get you started. A great book on cd that I purchased when I first started is "A Beginner's Guide To DSLR Astrophotography" by Jerry Lodriguss. I can highly recommend it.
