haha i'll keep that in mind. Thankfully what I'm doing now doesn't require props, but I just tried my first attempt at prop making for a cosplay I did last week and it was really stressful!

Okies. From someone who's done this before, I'd say it isn't hard. But to someone who's new at prop making, it's like climbing mount everest. Easiest things I can tell you now is sit down and design and plan. You can never take too much time with this phase. As you can see with Devil Bringer, I've made a couple different working designs. And what I have now is probably gonna change. Anything can and will happen. As you progress you may find that something doesn't work as you envisioned it, so you go back and change something here or there to make it work. A good design leads to a great looking well built prop. Most people who I talked to who just started making props forego taking the time to come up with a good design. Take your time designing, since that;s your foundation. It's what I do and the efforts pay off in the end.

Well I had a week and a half to sew the entire cosplay and make the weapon. I managed to pull it off overall though (the weapon, and most of the outfit...i didn't have time to make the shoes). My brother however wants me to make him a cosplay for his camp counsler job at a gaming camp so i'll try to design that (but again I only have a week before he leaves haha)

Herp Derp... Time is an important factor. Rushed projects never come out well. Leave yourself plenty of time to work on projects. Nero, for example, has no target debut date. He gets done when he gets done. While I'd like to have Nero ready for the fall convention season, I don't realistically see that happening. The costume for Nero will be done long before the props are. I hope to have him done my march 2012 so I debut him at Zenkaikon 2012.

I kind of don't pick when stuff has to be done by :\ Last minute stuff gets sprung on me well...last minute. I'll be leaving a week from tomororw myself for a 6 week long summer program that I didn't set the date of.
