I have to say that your work has taken my breath away, I have always dreamed of doing the kind of stuff you do. I would love to be a special effects artist but like you said before it is not in very high demand. But i was wondering did you learn all of this by trial and error, schooling, youtube? because i would really love to know how to do the stuff you do. Any tips?

Hi.. I just now saw your post. I am not doing any makeup fx- most of my work now is a hobby (costuming, sculpting). I can tell you this- Steve Wang said that cgi is making work more scarce for fx artists. I was trying to get to hollywood and get work with a studio and he told me it is slow there now. SO choose your careers wisely.

Since this Darkness is female, what is her role? Is she the female version of Darkness, since Darkness can take many forms and she is the same one? Is she his wife? I'm just curious to the plot you have so far.

I cant say too much about the plot.... Lady Darkness is his mother and the story is a prequel- before Darkness existed.

Wow! Your work is amazing!!! I was wondering where you learnt to do all that. Did you go to school or self-taught? The reason I'm asking that is that I'm an art major at university right now and after I grad I was thinking about going to school to learn to do this sort of thing...

hey there mel, whats the word on lady d? get the horns done and painted? I would love to see some full costume design stuff. i wrote a rough story outline for a sequel to legend set 40 years later. armies of mutated mucklebones and an aging, turning catlike queen lily...2 kids with darkness and jack hates her...i love your stuff. great work. check out my paintings and drop me a line, I have a few legend ones in there to.

i wrote to william hjortsberg a few years ago and showed him my artwork , as his gf or wife is a painter i believe, he sent me a photocard with his signature and a message, very cool dude. just thought Id share

I've been a longtime fan of your work, found it online in image Pred search. I'd wanted to commend you on your amazing work. I really can't express adequately how much it impresses me. Your airbrushing skills are beyond! Maybe it's the fx geek in me, but I rarely see skills that blow me away like this. The sculpting, colorwork, execution of detail, costume design, body painting (Immense props on the cyber woman!)are just a package-package deal. You guys have definitely earned the title of Big Gunns. Keep up the spectacular work!
