I don't have any more pictures of the small one, but I have a pic from a different frame (made the same way) right after soldering [link] ... hope it helps

huh... thats not at all what i expected it to look like! lol. i pictured it to be more like the one in the complete metalsmith book (if you are dedicated to metals, buy the book. its GREAT) lol. they describe a setting where you have sheet backing the stone, and then you solder 4 prongs to the plate by planting them into the firebrick. once soldered and brought to a true smooth surface, you trim down the prongs, edge or angle them if you want, and then set it after attaching a bail of sorts... thats cool though how you did it! its very unique!

oh yea... have seen it been done that way. Main reason why I did it the way I did, was to recycle some scrap wire ends from my wirewrapping and at the same time get some soldering practice (I'm still new to soldering). So soldering together 4 surfaces with one seam and still get them aligned is a challenge for me -.-
Gonna take a look at that book

lol, well i may have to test both methods out when i get back to school and hit the studio up. this could be good stuff (simple and elegant) for GEMS (our metals guild lol) mothers day sale! haha.

Hi again, and thanks for adding also my older spoon pendant set to your fav-collection.
One old lady gives me over 70 different nickel silver tea spoons just last weekend, so there is more similar projects coming in next winter.. (She was a retired antique dealer, who i meet some months ago in one summer fair.)
