forum.deviantart.com/community… you pathetic degenerate. That guy seemed sweet, instead of fighting the trolls (such as your worthless fat pile of rubbish) with more fighting, he actually did his best to de-escalate each situation. You are the reason people turn to trolls, I hope if you ever have kids that they get run over by their own school bus on accident right infront of your house for you to watch. You sicken me.
(I will admit, you were not AS malicious as the others).

I see.
1. You do not seem to understand what trolling is, even if I fitted that category on some level.
2. You are drudging up 6.5 year old threads to... single out one person on their page?
3. You barely seem to understand what I was doing in that thread (though the last comment was to hammer home one or two realities).
4. Your reaction is rather over the top.
This your first rodeo as a troll, or are you really that intellectually challenged? Christ this amount of logicless bullshit qualifies you for being potentially psychotic.

I'm so touched.
I do agree with you about the smugness point, except I can justify it very easily:
Because we Jews don't BELIEVE that Moses spoke to God - and thus founded Judaism.
We *KNOW* it from the personal experience of 3 million actual Jews.
(And I must add that I'm yet to see so many Jews AGREEING on pretty much ANYTHING, which alone is the perfect argument FOR Judaism's authenticity. Just look at Israel.)
Other religions are still limited to BELIEVING in their founders, though.
And yes, I do use arguments for a reason (as opposed to appealing to "blind faith").
After all, Judaism is all about KNOWLEDGE in the first place, unlike those BELIEF-driven fanfictions.

Koshej In reply to Totally-dead [2017-06-08 09:45:14 +0000 UTC]
I just explained the "smugness" you feel from debates about religion with Jews.
It's simply because Judaism ISN'T a "belief" - it's a historical FACT, witnesses first-hand by 3 million actual people.
On the other hand, ALL other religions ALWAYS start in the form of "this dude spoke to God ALONE, and God told him ALONE to found a new religion - and he was successful in RECRUITING other millions of TRUSTING followers AFTERWARDS".
Not so in Judaism, where ALL of its founders were eye-witnesses to the founding event.
For one, NO other religion CLAIMS a "national revelation" as a STARTING event - only as a "byproduct" of an already EXISTING religion.
In other words - people started "seeing" Nessi (or aliens) only AFTER it was promoted as a "popular idea".
But there are NO records of MASSIVE testimonies of any such "seeings" at the START of that idea's history.
It's simply that people ADOPTED an already EXISTING idea/belief - not were involved in CREATING it.
Again - OPPOSITE to how Judaism was FOUNDED: by a NATIONAL revelation at the very START.
I do hope you at least understand it (regardless of what you think about it) - I'm rather annoyed when people reject this "by default", based on the logical FALLACY that "ALL religions are fake and had evolved over time".
The point is that you can't have an opinion on something you have no KNOWLEDGE about in the first place - yet it's a favorite attitude of RELIGIOUSLY IGNORANT atheists towards Judaism in particular.

Totally-dead In reply to Koshej [2017-06-08 13:38:23 +0000 UTC]
Unsubstantiatable as fact. You justify it by a demonstation based on utterly false premises.
First it was "no other religion claims a national revelation", no it is "no other religion claims a national revelation as a starting event".
Here's a question: Why do you think judaism has it's start with Moses as a religion? Don't you believe Abraham existed? Or Noah? Or any other pre-Moses patriarchs? And didn't the people already believe in this monotheistic God?
IE the idea was pretty damn popular with a people running through the desert at the time. I seem to remember they believed in him before this, or am I somehow mistaken? So not a new idea.
Also, I would like to point out that there are MANY breaking points REPORTED in the history of judaism where the people forgot major parts of God's religion. I daresay your little... "starting event" was included more than once, considering the reaction upon the discovery of certain booksthroughout it's history.

Koshej In reply to Totally-dead [2017-06-08 14:04:20 +0000 UTC]
Because Noahidism (for non-Jews) ALSO exists as a part of Judaism's theology (and is traced back to both Noah AND Adam), but is utterly ignored by "atheists" raised in a *Christian* culture - simply cause Christianity rejects Noahidism just as much (since it makes Christianity moot to say the least).
Same goes for Islam, obviously.
Therefore, it's no surprise that you ask questions about "pre-Moses" times, even though there are direct answers to that in Judaism itself.
Including the literal direct person-to-person lineage of Moses to Abraham to Noah to Adam, which you somehow "ignored".
It's just that you would need to KNOW enough OF Judaism for that, ya know.
I - do, you - don't.
Figures.
Also, Judaism is NOT based on the revelations to Adam, Noah, and Abraham - DESPITE those involving exactly the same God in exactly the same context.
For example, Abraham is TOLD about the upcoming Egyptian slavery, and there's even an explanation that there was a literal "password" that was used by Moses to verify his mission as the redeemer.
What's more, that password was checked by Serah the daughter of Asher, the son of Jacob - since she was still alive miraculously.
That is, Moses fulfilled something that was directly foretold to Abraham and his family many years ago, as opposed to "creating a new religion" out of nowhere - which IS the case with Christianity and especially Islam.
But the uniqueness of the Sinai Revelation isn't about "humans interacting with God" - it's about a COVENANT being extended to a NATION, as opposed to a FAMILY in the past.
The Jewish NATION was born on Sinai, even though the Jewish FAMILY is traced back to Abraham.
Yet again, ALL of this requires a direct KNOWLEDGE of what Judaism is about (and how it explains LOTS of things) - which *YOU* utterly LACK.
The key word is "parts".
That's also why we have a Talmud in the first place, by the way - to preserve losing even more PARTS.
On the other hand, NONE of it explains the ORIGIN of the NATIONAL COVENANT - and that one is Sinai, and ONLY Sinai.
More so, Maimonides makes it crystal clear, that it's ONLY Sinai that made Judaism BINDING on ALL Jews in ALL times and places.
Even such textually pre-Sinai things like circumcision, were still re-confirmed at Sinai to make them actually BINDING FOREVER.
Abraham had Ishmael, Isaac had Esau - and neither of those two are Jewish, because they CHOSE to NOT be so.
After Sinai, "being Jewish" is NOT a choice that can be REJECTED (though it still can be ADOPTED) - and that's precisely THE difference between "pre-Sinai" Jews like Abraham and "post-Sinai"Jews like myself.
No matter how "atheistic" or "idolatrous" a Jew BEHAVES - they still STAY Jewish nonetheless, FOREVER.
Their kids is a different topic, often painful nowadays, but there's NO way a Jew can STOP being a Jew - no matter what.
And this is ONLY thanks to Sinai - NOT Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, or even Moses himself.
Nope, only the COVENANT that was enacted by God at Sinai, is the sole reason that Jews are Jews.
But, yet again, all of this involves the KNOWLEDGE that you LACK.

1. Doesn't have to, unless you also reject Constitution and Independence for the exact same reason of "not having been there". It does get mentioned in the article, by the way.
2. I don't see "multiple accounts" in Judaism, and I don't give a shit about fanfictions of other religions OR "historians", who also "haven't been there" in the first place.
3. The article even covers the point about "best hoax ever", you clearly missed (or ignored) that point. It could NOT be a hoax precisely because of how GOOD of a hoax it would be, if it was.
Now - go and READ it again, cause you clearly didn't pay enough attention to the actual text.

1. They were more recent, far better documented, and are laws, ideas, not events.
2. You don't know your subject then.
3. Not really, it would be an easy enough hoax to pull off. How is it being too convincing to an overcredulous shepherd an indicator of it being too good a hoax to be a hoax? The details could easily have been tweaked later to make it seem better, either way. I certainly don't believe what came of it was actually said.

1. Not really. The Original US constituted millions, and I daresay millions have seen the attesting document, verified as an original from the era.
2. There are different versions in each religion, different versions in different documents treating different versions of the Torah from different eras.
3. I don't credit that as true, because otherwise I daresay documentation would have been rather more varied FROM the era.

1. Millions have "seen" the "alien videos" as well.
I'm talking about DIRECT INVOLVEMENT of signing, and that amounts to just dozens at best (basically, everyone who signed and maybe a few additional circumstantial witnesses).
2. Prove this claim with linked quote-examples.
Merely stating that "all religions do it", is not only a sign of ignorance (since none of that constitutes a real example-proof), but also means nothing AS a proof to begin with.
3. Idiot is being idiot.
The fact that 3.000.000 people AGREED on something (and nobody wanted to ARGUE against the ONE account that EVERYONE HAD BEEN A WITNESS TO) - "must be fake, because people NEVER AGREE on something".
Circular generalization atheism at its biggest hypocrisy, indeed.
Oh, and USA independence *NEVER HAPPENED* - "because each signator MUST HAVE WRITTEN a Constitution of HIS OWN, otherwise it's NOT VALID", according to you.
Seriously, can you drop the bias that feeds your glaring hypocrisy?

Totally-dead In reply to Koshej [2017-06-02 09:30:42 +0000 UTC]
1. So? The ORIGINAL document is under our noses. It has historical confirmation, and there is no reason the doubt it scientifically. Millions have seen it.
Your idea is something that has no historical confirmation (we can barely even historically attest to the Jews being in Egypt, to their journey and to the historical events supposed to have happened in Israel).
2. To start with, even between their own books they do use the same names. There are discrepancies between the biblical versions and jewish versions though tiny and probably more to do with translations than anything else, but the Islamic version seems to utterly omit God speaking to the people. The internal inconsistencies are bad enough on their own, to make it all but worthless as a good coherent account.
www.biblegateway.com/passage/?…
exodusconversations.org/exodus…
thetorah.com/what-happened-at-…
3. We only have one account from AT BEST a near 600 years after it was supposed to have happened. Nobody felt the need to spread the word at the time. The egyptians don't seem to care, the greeks don't seem to care, I mean fuck, aside from a self contradicting (even by biblical standards) account written by a bunch of people centuries AFTER the events in question, we have no corroboration whatsoever, not even archeological. We cannot find mount sinai itself, we cannot find a single properly corroborating piece of documentation, evidence or otherwise that couldn't have been pure invention after the fact. It sounds like a one-up story line, in a world of competing religions, I am afraid. The base line is, that after such an event, SOMEONE else would have recorded it.
And 3'000'000 is an unrealistic number whatever the truth of the matter, for the era. It's probable even egypt barely had that number as it's entire population. So an exodus tribe moving through the desert would have started dying out en masse with those numbers.
There were multiple accounts of the independance signing. Wierdly, most major participants refer to it in personal writings somewhere or another. So sorry, but your attempt at... whatever that was, just crashed and burned.
