Ahaha C&E was a bit of a mess. Was really sick Saturday morning (so I didn't enter the costume contest or wear Tali at all) and left a part of my Zia cosplay at home. Meanwhile it was boiling hot the whole weekend, even when it rained. I ended up just wearing cool clothes and cat ears all weekend. Still had a blast but not my usual con experience LOL! Meanwhile I've starting going to a local fantasy LARP group, so I'm getting really into medieval/fantasy clothing. I'll probably be posting some photos once I make something cool. What have you been up to?

Hmm, I've not been up to too much. I was supposed to attend a convention this weekend, but well my brother got a rare weekend off. So he's going to go to a concert with the rest of the family and I'm going to cover his shift at work. I've already been to 2 conventions this year; Central Canada Pop Culture Expo and Saskatoon Blitz. The one I was going to go to was called Saskatchewan Entertainment Expo or SEE. It's a brand new con that just started this year, so I'm not expecting it to be too big or anything like that. I've only 1 more convention this year, Central Canada Comic Con in Novemember.
And I haven't made anything else besides the Dark Brotherhood. The only thing I keep changing with that cosplay is I'm constantly adding more and more weapons that I carry. I've got 2 Daedric Swords, the Blade of Woe and soon Mehrunes Razor and sheath. Honestly, I could go to cons forever with just this. It's fun to wear, oh and last time I made 15 "We Know" notes and took them with me to Saskatoon Blitz and handed them out. I got some amazing reactions. XD
I was getting into Homestuck a while back, because I got invited to a Homestuck meet up, not at a Con, but at a park in Saskatoon. So I was really into reading Homestuck and wanting my next cosplay to be Gamzee Makara and I was hoping to join the Saskatchewan Homestuck community. But...
I guess the people who invited me, forgot to mention that... everyone who was going to attend was still in Highschool. So when I got there and everyone who was attending arrived... not a single one of the 30 people attending was over 19. I think the youngest was like 13, the oldest was 18 and everyone else was in between. So I was standing off to the side going... O_O... what the heck am I doing here?? Let's just say a few more years and it'll be my 10 year post High School grad meet up. So I guess that idea of joining the Homestuck community there is off the table. at 25+ years old... yeah, I didn't really like being the oldest guy there by like... a lot.
Oh well, I think the only reason I stayed for most of the meet up was because I bought a cooler, 25 bottles of water and 25 packs of Gushers for the meet up. No one told me to, I just decided to be nice, because it was nearly +30 that weekend and the meet up was outside. And by the end of the meet up, I was left with only 4 bottles of water and 4 packs of gushers remaining. So even though I didn't really have fun, I did a pretty good deed. No else thought to provide water and snacks on a super hot day.

If you look closely, you can see me for a split second at 2:50 I'm standing by the pillar in my Dark Brotherhood cosplay, behind the dancing Splinter Cell guys, slightly to the left. I really enjoyed that dance XD It's the only other time besides Halloween that you had nearly 200 people dancing in costume, so that was quite an experience. XD
Other than that, that's about all I've been up to lately. I just have to wait, work and save for Comic Con in November. I really don't think I'll be making any new cosplays. I'm just gonna keep making more weapons. one of my dream projects is to make a Daedric Bow, Daedric arrows and a Daedric greatsword. I got some really great compliments for my Daedric Swords.

I wanted to ask, if you still have it; How is the Blade of Woe that I made you holding up? I ask because the sword I made myself; The Daedric sword, that's nearly as long as two Blades of Woe, isn't doing so well. And this one has a steel rod core, 2 layers of paint. The paints beginning to flake off, glues failing in places. So I can only imagine what's happening to your Blade of Woe. I admit, it was rushed to get it to you before your Tsukino-Con.
Yours has a coat hanger core, yeah, I built it on late sat and couldn't buy a steel, brass or any other kind of solid core. So I used a coat-hanger, broke in half and used that for the core. And I only put 1 layer of paint for; the blade, the hilt, the opposite black part of the entire blade length.
So what I'm wondering; Is your Blade of Woe flaking? Is it falling apart? Is it junk by now? Yours was more rushed than mine and I'm thinking of throwing away both of my Daedric swords, now that I know what to do to preserve them for much longer usage. Seal them in clear coat/sealing solution after 3 coats of paint. That way they last much longer, give off a gloss, and look better.

Ah, that's good to hear. I guess I forgot to mention. The last con I cosplayed at, it was raining, hard. And because my Dark Brotherhood cosplay is made of thick material, i went outside in the rain quite often to cool down. Just take my hood off, stand under the rain and cool down.
Bad idea, Cuz of course, I carried my swords with me all the time, usually set them on the wet damp grass as I was standing outside. And I didn't add a sealer, ugh. So that's why mine are falling apart. They were rain covered, water got inbetween the foam where the two halves connected around the metal rod core and poor storage in my upstairs sun room that's kinda moist. So yeah, Next time I gotta do a better job at construction and storage. AND not take them outside in the rain. XD

Yeah, I did. And no, I haven't been back there at night anymore. The thing with my job and my boss is totally ok with it. Is that he doesn't mind when I get my work done, so long as it's done. So School gets out at 3:00 P.M. and I'm supposed to clean the highschool area before the next school day.
There are times I go there really late, sometimes I'll take a nap cuz I'm not feeling good, or if I get back home from a con on sunday and work all night in order to get it done for monday. But after that incident, I no longer go there at night and work only in daylight.
Whoever it was, was never caught unfortunately. And I do feel kind of bad I didn't get a look at the burglar or anything, all those poor grade 12 were really upset that all their stuff got stolen, all their games, video game systems and movies. Practically happened right in front of me and I couldn't help em in the end.
On another note, I'm sorry I ain't replied right away. I'm keeping very busy with my blog. It's not overly popular, I've only got 185 followers. But I like to help other cosplayers/artists and such of Skyrim get their work viewed by my audience. You're just one of over a dozen people I've featured with their permission. In hopes that it sends a few new fans their way. I can be helpful on a larger scale here. Sometimes people get a few likes, reblogs, other times, some of the people I feature get 30 or note likes,reblogs.

Oh no problem, it took me like a month to respond I just wanted to make sure you got it XD VERY GLAD to hear you don't go at night anymore... so scary >_< Gahhh I can't believe he took so much stuff. You did the right thing though, and the same thing everyone would have done. You probably wouldn't have been able to see him very well anyway, just as good as the cameras can. So don't worry about that, anyone would have done the same thing!

I've done small commission work in the past but the idea makes me nervous because I always worry that the stuff I make won't be good enough quality... hahaha. When I make costumes for myself, I tend to cut a lot of corners, and I also try to do everything on a low budget so I don't use the best quality materials. Also, I find the matter of deciding what to charge very difficult. I would love to give you suggestions/share my experience if there's anything in particular you're thinking of making, though!
