Hello! I just finished reading about the French Revolution for school today. :D (Big Grin) It was pretty basic, but Robespierre sounds like he was a bit on the mean side. :( (Sad)

Yay! But, What exactly makes you say that about Robespierre? Yes, he wasn't exactly perfect. It depends on the portrayal, sometimes he is made out as a savior and other times as a total warlock. I don't see him as either. I think he had good intentions but made some mistakes and bad decisions. But this is what makes him so interesting! ;) (Wink)
What do you you think of some of the other main people of the period?

Well, from what I read I think he threatened to kill everyone or something? But I guess that's just the point of view my lesson was written from. Again, it didn't go into much detail about the French Revolution or the people. Honestly, I can't remember any other people at the moment (hey, it's late ) but I'll read through it again tomorrow.

That is sort of true. He didn't threaten to kill everyone, but he did get pretty extreme, speaking for the executions of more moderate revolutionaries like Camille Desmoulins. But it's not really that simple, because the death penalty was very common in those days and killing people with opposing view points wasn't a new thing. If you want, I know of a few sites that are kinder to Robespierre, but only if you're interested. But, yeah, the revolution is much more than just Robespierre and Marie Antoinette.
