Meh. Once this tale is over I think I'll retire my pen. If it's not overpowered it's arrogant; if it's not arrogant, it's "too matter of fact" or "too cold". If I wanted to write Kenpachi Zaraki or your Bust-it, or someone that gets high off of killing combat, I would have. I wanted to make a character that was great at killing but didn't take pleasure in it, but that apparantly is unpopular. Haaaaaah...
Good luck on your tale, though, and I hope to hear more of it soon. You aren't dead, are you?

No, I should apologize. If you have a busy schedule it's fine, man, I shouldn't be demanding your time when I asked you to read it in the first place. Could you give me the links to the other stories, man? They may preoccupy me. Besides, I wrote that on a low point. I'm a lot happier now that I finally have art of "L" up- albeit commissioned- and my girlfriend finally got off her period. I was just in a gloom before, that's all. More importantly I look forward to reading YOUR work, when or if you have a chance to write it.

Yeh, it's all cool man. I've got eight chapters up now and on Friday I'm posting the Ninth. Also starting to edit the ones Spyke told me to edit, and draft the story of the far more lovable "G"- who is a Leprechaun by species, Paladin by training, and Masque by choice. "L" is epic, people say, but he's not quite human. Too special without any powers. *grumble* So now I'm writing a more human inhuman with more weaknesses and powers. Could be fun!

Oh man that freaking sucks, the fact that you have a human thats inhuman...yeah that really must hurt to hear.
Geez, I never had a truly human character so I'm not sure how you can fix that. Well, in most cases its probably doing things...that exceed way past human limits.
Geez...I wonder if I would ever hit that problem with MD...nah impossible. ^^ Four years this guy been in my head, four years he took the back seat to other characters. Four years I re-worked his powers and weaknesses. Trust me man, when it comes to making a good character thats cool but not too powerful. Sometimes its better for the character to be inhuman to face on difficult challenges.

Nah, it's cool. I actually designed "L" to be more than human... otherwise, he would be long dead. And I realized that what I wanted to do was make him part of something larger. Some destiny or doom that would have shaped him to become so strong.
He is the powerless man that cannot leap over tall buildings in a single bound, but can flip five feet up into the air and move at the speed of monsters rather than light. He is the monster killer. I already repeated it many times, but I cannot convey what it truly MEANS without writing the deeds performed. I will tell you, though, what you see now is the peak of his abilities. He will never grow stronger.
Perhaps he doesn't have to. The thing that amazes me personally is that he's taken so much flak during what are really just a series of lethal tests. Tests. When you all see what his actual JOB is like in the midst of the magic wars and chaos outside, battling Titans and Faeries and demons- no offense, Monster & Co.- you shall flip. But I agree that an overpowered character is less cool than a mid range (except for villains) and I say I was right to make him this way for what he faces. But enough of me.

Well I'm happy to see that you're very proud of your character or else something would be wrong with that. Now that I see it, MD and "L" might be somewhat alike...except...personality wise and junk. Well, you'll see soon enough

MD is a rather interesting chap, storywise thus far, and in personality. While "L" is more of a older fighter regretting deeds, MD seems to be a young firey warrior that still very much enjoys what he does. Other than that, choice of weapons, and appearance, they do seem to be cut from the same cloth... or at the very least the same company. I am indeed proud of "L", and I am happy to see MD's moment to shine, for it is glorious.
Perhaps you are not a "4 on an essay" writer, but you have something more important than grammer and structure- you have a damned good story. You are a good storyteller, my friend, and let no man or woman tell you differently. And personally, I take "epic" over "correct" any day I read.

Nah man, he ain't interesting yet. I just hope I can get him to the point where he's really interesting. Ah well when it comes to weaponry, that too is a process for MD. These next couple of chapters would set the mood for whats to come. After some experience with other stories I understand the key things of making a good action story.
A character bad ass, reasonable, and weak to certain situations.
Weapons, what makes him different than usual, his choices in signature weapons.
Love interest
Moral choices
and other crap
And seriously...they aint not shine yet, we far from that mate
And thanks man, and its true I'm not that good at essay writing with all the rules and what not. But as much as a good storyteller I only hope that it can attract more attention 
To tell you the truth, "L" is a tough bastard, he's a pretty damn cool character you know.
