Radu, I find your Traditional gallery quite impressive! Five Star Stories' Mortar Headds are generally difficult to draw properly, and you've nailed many of the small details while keeping them anatomically correct. Keep it up!

Thanks Kevin and likewise, I'm sorry I haven't been able to reply in a timely manner as I am in over my head learning 3D and building my own website, the mortar headds are ok, I don't really like anything in my gallery anymore so as soon as I finish doing what I have planned I'll get back to commenting/uploading on DA.

Ironically I did have you in mind and I did do a really rough sketch, I know you wanted arms but I couldn't stop myself, ignore the head also, it is just for proportions, tell me if you like the overall shape, I tried to mix the Gundam "block"-ish look with FSS.

That is so many kinds of awesome...
While it is certainly different than what I had pictured in my head, I definitely like the overall shape (to be fair, what I had in my head was like 100% FSS, haha).
I'm afraid I do need hands to be on it though eventually, haha. Due to how the mecha are controlled, hands sort of make more sense, plus help random scenes of symbolism, expression, and whatnot.
Also I think that it might be better if the upper and lower torso weren't connected by a piece of armor like you have, or at least not in the front. I feel like it would sort of inhibit movement, plus to be honest I just think it might look better without it. Like it's just that one blue piece connecting the upper and lower torso in front of the black armor plating, everything else looks great though.
Anyhow, I'm really really liking it. Sorry to nitpick, but thanks so much for taking the time to help me out on this!

That looks amazing! I'm liking the tweaks on the torso and the hands you have going. I'm liking pretty much everything you have going.
My question is... Have you drawn the head? I'm having a hard time figuring out if that's the head in the middle or part of an unfinished torso. Looking at your underdrawing it looks like it's part of the torso but I just wanted to be sure. What I was going to say is if it IS the head, the shoulders look like they're headed in the direction of a "heavy" unit, when this is supposed to be an all-purpose/mass production sort of unit. Like I said, I think a lot of the problem is that because it's unfinished I'm somewhat unsure of what that is, so feel free to tweak it as you want.

It's the "neck", the middle torso plates are continuing under the upper torso body and emerging as a neck, I haven't gotten to the head yet, want me to come up with some variants or you want me to do the one you sent in the mail?
