Ever considered Paint.NET or The GIMP if you want to do pictures? They are like paint on steroids, open source (under MIT License) / freeware. Should be less frustrating than MS Paint, although I've seen someone do a Mona Lisa using paint so you might be comfortable with it.

I got GIMP on my other laptop (it's running ubuntu) but i can't really get the hang of it!, i might look in to Paint.NET though

I love it, its very intuitive. You do need to have Windows.Net installed to run it (most recent PCs have that automatically and you can download it) its basically starting to compete with Photoshop (no brushes, yet) and is community supported (so loads of add-ons available). I use it exclusively, did that whole dragon with it.
