# About me
Hi all. I'm starting to get a few pics in the gallery now, so here's Amber's little intro. I've been drawing all my life, gradually improving and learning new skills. Like many, I'm self-taught, so my style and skill-level are constantly evolving. I started out in graphite (which I still use a lot), but have more recently started exploring charcoal, pastels, water-colors and the like. DeviantART is the most amazing site, and it's a little intimidating posting my work with so many brilliant artists out there. I really appreciate your comments and visits...it's very validating. If anyone has a picture or person they'd like to suggest I try my hand at, by all means send me an email and I'll give it a look. Commission work is also very welcome. The October Theme is SWEETS & All Hallows' Eve, so works of any medium representing any kind of sweets or something related to the Halloween (the fun part, no gore or violence please) will be accepted.

I do use a grid, yes. I've found it's the only way get the details close to what I want. Some people really look down on artists who use grid systems, but it's a time-honored method that's been employed by many great artists throughout history. I highly recommend it.

Hey Aussie, love your work and just wanted to drop you a msg as you are the first DAer from Aus that I have come across. Pencil, graphite artist that is. Your level of patience is extreme, I wish I had it read your about me ever evolving and self taught and constantly learning - improving.
