Funny... some people are so sheltered on this site that they get extremely pissed when you toss an ounce of reality at them. They whine about how you hate and how they're so innocent and how dare you betray their god-given right to have some sugary-sweet bullshit of a comment put on their crappy ass piece of shit so they can feel better about their non-talent! Yeah, I've seen people recieve tons of "compliments" and when they recieve one critique their whole world is tossed upside down because "oh no! someone out there isn't treating me like da Vinci! I better piss and moan until I get my spoiled way again!" sickening...

there is A LOT of REALLY bad artwork on dev. art.....i'd love for you to critque me......in a constructive sort of way, no asshole remarks.........i always get comments like....COOL...NEAT....AWESOME...and that really doesn't help me improve as an artist......tell me if i'm doing something RIGHT!

This is all well and good...I'd be happy to have you tell me what is wrong with me art... But a lot of the people (like me) on deviantart are not artist...some of us didn't do art classes but taught ourselves how to draw...
And you are not Criticising like art teachers....art teachers...not only do teachers tell their students (nicely) what they have done wrong...they also tell the students what they have done right ^^
You shouldn't be so harsh on people tell them their mistakes with kindness. As the saying goes you catch more flys with honey than with Vinegar ^^
But yeah as I said before if you do it properly I'd be happy to what I have done wrong ^^

I agree that the first 20 or comments were pretty harsh, but since then we have cleaned up our act. I give nothing but good comments now. I feel that i'm helping by criticizing and that it is NOT a good thing for people to be able to submit a piece of art that is technically flawed and be praised for it. Everything I say in my critiques would be the same thing you would hear from an art teacher or photography teacher. It can only help, once you get the technical side of design down then you can start thinking about subject matter and everything else. That's the way it is and that's the way it always will be.
I want people to realize that on a daily basis the percentage of worth while art is dropping here at deviantart and pretty soon there will be nothing here worth looking at. I feel that good artists are becoming a minority here and that is not the way it should be, so i'm trying to making some people realize this.......... It's people like ~valentinesbitch that blow it way out of proportion........sure I started it but have you seen how far she's taken it, it's just ridiculous. In a community this big there is always going to be trouble makers, I am one of those trouble makers. In a community this big there are always going to be angry anti trouble makers....... I think we all know who those people are. There is really nothing anyone can do about any of it, if it's not me it's going to be someone else.......so i'm going to go about my business commenting and critiquing bad work and you all need to realize this and just let it happen. I'm not hurting anyone and I never will.

I really can't argue with your middle schooler flawed logic. No matter what you say, you can't turn yourself into some crusader, well maybe in your deluded mind you are. One, you admit to being wrong and you're okay with it so it's alright to continue. People who really care about a community they're in will come clean, apologize and work on making it a better place for everyone.
So you see, you're not changing and learning, just hiding behind this new account/club because it makes you feel better, seeing as how you don't have any more credibility under your real name. Your comments are disguished elitist hatred and rhetorical dribble with technical details any fool can pick up from a $5 dollar pocket photagraphy book. You guys really don't bother ME, but it's what you do to others that pisses me off. I don't think your artwork sucks, just because you're being dickheads, but your attitude really needs improvement. If you don't like the way things are run here, make your own website, it's simple. That way you won't have to deal with blantantly stupid comments, or whatever. I don't see the reason why you harp on making deviantart such a "better place" and "not so full of crap", because they're are 250,000 + people here. Seeing as no one has joined your club I don't see how one (or two) people can really make difference in eliminating the "crap". I don't see why you keep going on like you do either, it's a losing battle on your part. You've flamed probably 20 or more people who are just going to hate you for it anyway, or get you banned so you cannot continue your "fun". Congratulations on making a ruckus, I think you have achieved your goal. So why don't you just move on and do something constructive, eh? What's so fun about tons of people hating you anyway? I see that no-one has really tried to talk to you rationally, seeing as you pissed them off. All they do is say the same shit anyway, about how you pissed them off, your critiques need " improvement" and so does your attitude. That's all you're gonna hear until you get banned. So what goals did you accomplish other than pissing off a few people out of 250,000? The so called crap is still here and will continue to surface so why don't you just chill?

I assure you i'm not doing this to make myself feel better. I'm doing it for the community, I mainly concentrate on " webcam" self portraits and things of that nature that are not artistic.

I really don't like how he trashes people's art for his own personal entertainment because he thinks it's boring. I've tried to explain to him the difference in positive and negative critiques and the set policies but I really don't think he gives a flip. And he sounds just tweakit in his rational. >.< I dunno if any of this is means anything, besides being incredibly annoying.

i can respect suggestions to improve my photography...but to be told/ordered to crop and manipulate my images to make them half-way decent - i can't help but want to defend myself.
And who are you anyway...are you an artist? or just a critic? Have you been schooled many years or studied with great artists around the world to have obtained superior knowledge on the do's and don'ts of art? And who's to say what makes a piece good?

All your going to do is get flamed and if enough people bitch you'll get banned no questions asked. Your going to find (and really damn quickly) most people on DA hate negative criticism. It's best that if you find art thats crap, either give carefully-worded constructive and supportive criticism or ignore it completely and comment on what you do like.

most comments are constructive, and not really made to be harsh. although they were at first, this is slowly becoming extinct. and about the colors, they are complimentary. they are both slightly pastel versions of red and green, which are complimentary.
colors dont have to be their straight hue in order to be complimentary.
