To anyone who sees this I'm looking for aya174's deleted "Fedora and boots" pictures - they were deleted before I got a chance to save them. It doesn't look like aya174 gets online anymore. If anyone has these pics or knows how I would go about getting them please let me know

I enjoy them and look forward to seeing the next ones that aren't out yet but the original series will always be more special, it required more in-depth thinking which is what I enjoyed about it.

I agree whole heartedly, also it seems as though they used a lot more symbols and theological metaphors in the original series then they are in the reboot films.

Rebuilds are great for what they are, but the original series was much deeper.
I am eager to see where they are taking it. I am fond of the original ending though, internal dialog and mindfuckery all!

Agreed, it's not Evangelion if it doesn't fuck you mind at the end! How do you feel about the theory that the Rebuild films are just the aftermath/rebooted reality after third impact?

Haha, that idea popped in my head as soon as I saw the red ocean >.< Anno loves to fug with us so much, and I've seen little clues here and there.
I really have to see the upcoming one to make a more concrete basis for how they are taking it. I need to watch them again, but I distinctly remember Shinji having a line in one of the Rebuilds pretty much saying "I will do it better this time" (heavy paraphrasing).
Short answer is I believe it is highly credible ^_^

I believe Kowaru was the one who said that, but it still hads credibility to the theory!
I can't wait for the third film to come out in the US! I'm almost tempted to buy the Japanese release but I don't think it comes with subtitles and the English voice cast does an amazing job.

If it makes you feel better, the community already has fansubs pretty much waiting to be applied to a purchased DVD from what I was reading ^_^
I honestly need to give the english dub a shot. I tend to get annoyed by a lot of dubs, but there are some very well done ones out there. I've heard good things about the Rebuild dub
