So, I finally got a list up and running for the Link of the Night. If you're not on it (as in, don't get this message, and you want to), shoot me a note, or leave a message or just somehow let me know. Same goes for the instance that you want off the list - please let me know.

Happiness , by .
The Interview , by .
Rusting Bridges of Suburbia , by .

So, I did some peruzing, and earthed up these three pieces.
Happiness is beautiful in its own simplicity, and has a subtle kick to it that I find lacking in a lot of reading these days.
The Interview is an interesting little for-the-stage piece that I found myself cracking up over, all over the place. There's some great humor and dialogue going on here, as well as some great subtle toss-ins for the actors to experiment with. Something I would love to see performed.
While Rusting Bridges of Suburbia might be a little ho-hum subject-wise, the rhythm and control of meter that ~ honestbrutality has accomplished here is impeccable. It takes a lot of practice and a lot of control of vocabulary to get a good rhythm in a slam piece these days, and it's done beautifully here.

Get writing, fuckos. *jesusbite

Yes, I know, I know... I've not been very active recently have I? Thats because having had my heart trampled on means all I seem to be capable of is writing bad bitter poetry that I wouldn't be happy submitting

I've got a few good (non-bitter) ideas now though, so I promise I'll submit something soon... and I know I've got a backlog of your work to get through. I'll have a look at it when I get the chance. I'm sure it'll have been worth the wait

You're really good at getting dumped, aren't you?
Come to South Africa man, where the girls are gorgeous and love English accents...plus, it's summer. Haha. I really think it's the weather that gets the best of people.
Anyway, looking forward to your deviations and best wishes with the love life.

I've been to London and I love it too. Salvador Dali is my favorite artist too. Have you been to the museum in spain?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

batgaz In reply to fashionfreaque [2003-11-17 19:31:00 +0000 UTC]

Nope not been to Dali museum in Spain but would love to go. I went to an exhibition at the Tate so I've seen most of his major works including 'Metamorphosis of Narcissus' which is my favourite painting in the whole world! Also went to the Dali exhibition in London which wasn't so good but still quite interesting. It had some of the scenery he did for the dream sequence in Hitchcock's Spellbound which was cool.

Thanks for the comment. Spanging is really rather innocuous - it is panhandling. It comes from a bastardized contraction of "spare change," the common refrain of most city dwelling bums.

Thanks for the comment on my 'epic' and if you're interested in a little exploration click.

I'll be back, but you know that. And don't let your head hang consider the positive sides of dumping ........... things.

Take care

Like a mass-produced two-story-with-attached-garage suburban nightmare, here comes my "I'm too busy to thank you individually like I used to" expression of gratitude:

Honestly, thank you for taking the time to read and comment on my work.

If you faved it, great.
If you left me cryptic messages, I understood those as heaps of praise - my ego thanks you.
If you gave me meaningful critique, I thank you for your devotion to our craft.
If you just dropped by and said hey, that's cool too.

I am drowning in a sea of uninteresting work. There are few things I'd rather do than catch up (and keep up) with my deviantwatch. Sadly, that luxury is growing less available to me. I will comment when I can.

Well, what if I tell you that the words, rhythms and rhymes play with me ... and I let them!

Thanks for being willing to wallow with me. It really just happened all on its own and thanks to my pavlovian reaction a song was there. It will take considerable time however to turn it into a song, the lyrics part works, but I have several bass-lines, guitar-licks and maybe an organ to produce.

Later

After reading "Charlie" myself once again, I realized that in form it's also based on Prince's "Annie Christian" (Controversy) and George Clinton's "Holly wants to go to California Holly would if Holly could" (Uncle Jam wants you ...)-version.
Music inspires, as your I imagine proves too.

Anywayz, thanks for the comment, fave, watch and all.
