it would be great if i could get your help.. as an absolute beginner, i don't even know what stretches to start with, though i've learned much through trial and error. Any advice you can share that will help me toward my ultimate goal would be appreciated. And it's nice to know I'm not alone, you know?

oh, sorry! I thought I replied already
just start with lots of back arches and slowly try to make your back more nd more closer together... some one else who's been commenting my page seems like they want to help someone out: [link] I think they know what theyre talking about more than me

That makes sense, I can apply what you said after I conquer the bridge, I guess. but I just found a new place for practice, so hopefully that will help me along faster.
Lol, funny you should recommend desi-kat, since I have already been messaging this person, and much good advice is forthcoming, I think.
Thanks for the advice. I'm definitely stretching, or attempting handstands today, it's like seventy degrees outside and beautiful. TTYL

i'm mainly learning backbending.. but i saw this girl on youtube trying to show it, and after every back bend, she bent forward and hugged her legs to her chest.. So now to make sure I don't hurt my back just bending it one way, i alternate.
But my one obstacle now is finding the right place to practice, where I can bend and not be so worried about falling over..lol, and trying to bend without the support of a wall behind me.
Are there any good stretches I should do before working on backbends and such, like warmups?
Thanksmuch
PS You should definitely post some pictures of your self-taught skills. I will most def. Collect them for my own inspiration. TTyl

well, before i stretch i have to crack my back a lot, and then do a few back bends and i always front bend and do the splits and things like that. It's just fun, especially while listening to music

well, its kinda hard to explain but ill try anyways. if u stretch out ur upper back b4 doing ur back bending it makes it alot easier. u can do that by standing about 6 inches from a wall, putting ur arm above ur head, look up and slide ur arms up the wall till ur chin is an the wall. hold it for a bit the stop n do it again. this usually helps me do alot of upper body back stuff like elbow stands and chest stands. hope that helps a bit and i'll try to put up some of my contortion pics soon.
